...To be fair, it's possible that, given the way this place works (frankly, a lot of it has gone straight over her head; she's mostly focused on World In Trouble, Needs Help, which is simple and straightforward and something she's used to), he might be dead and just... not, when he's here. Maybe! Who knows!! The important thing is that he is alive right now, apparently?!
She definitely spends more time staring at him than really looking where she's going; it's by the grace of something that she doesn't trip or crash into something (or someone) and ruin everything. Wouldn't that be just a great way to end things here?
But somehow she manages. Maybe no one comments on her staring because they're taking the whole silence thing seriously, or maybe no one notices. She's not a mage, and she has no special attachment to rituals like this. It had just seemed like an interesting idea, and it's not like things haven't been a lot, but this is... this is definitely more than she bargained for!! As much as she can stretch her ability to suspend disbelief, it's a lot to ask for--to go from knowing a guy only as a name and a photo and a quick blurb, to facing him down in a fight to the death, to thinking he's dead as well.
And now here they are, feeding herbs into a fire together. Cool. Cool and great and not at all weird in any way. ]
