[Shit. Shit, this is the absolute worst way this reunion could have happened—it's not that Kadoc knows what he wants to do or say in this situation, and there's some strange, perverse freedom in not having a choice in the matter, that's true. But he'd still rather have actual freedom in what to say or do at a time like this, confronted with . . .
With, well, he expected this. Some part of Kadoc had thought this moment was inevitable for a while now, as more and more Chaldea Servants began to appear in Camelot. Clearly their world was being tapped for resources, of a type, in all of this mess, and what better resource to tap than Humanity's Last Master herself to keep her Servants in check and do that saving-the-world shit she's sooooo good at? There'd been that moment, meeting Asterios here for the first time last month and hearing that Asterios would take orders from him until his Master arrived, that Kadoc had found himself thinking: which she will. Of course she will. And now . . . here she is.
And he can't even say anything about it!
He is so tempted to just shove at her and run, but it's a stupid, fleeting desire that would accomplish nothing at all. Sure, just run away from the problem, such as it is. He'd only be buying himself time, and to do what? Dwell? Go grab a drink somewhere, maybe? It's pointless. No, that urge can wait, and instead the twin urges to stare burning holes in her and also, somehow, refuse to look at her at all can duke it out in his head. The staring one wins. It turns out both of them are just walking while doing a Big Stare in the other's direction, which probably looks fine and normal from the outside.
Kadoc tries to put all of his words into this stare, which would not be very useful or effective at the best of times, but frankly? Right now, he doesn't even know what those words are anyway.
All he can really do is feed this sprig of lemon balm into the fire, apparently!
