On the one hand, Griffin is used to taking people at face value, because that is how he functions on a day-to-day basis.
But on the other hand, he IS tangentially aware that there are quite a few cultures that require a whole song-and-dance around offering and accepting anything from a seat on a city bus, down to the last piece of cheesecake in the fridge. The father of one of his best friends in school came from a culture like that.
So he actually hesitates a little longer than he would normally, before deciding that it's probably okay to be reassured. They had been chatting so nicely just a moment ago, it would be really strange to upend that because of surprise royalty.
He hopes, anyway.
"Um...Okay. If you're sure. I'm sorry, I really don't want to be rude or like, overstep? Shoot. Um." And then something else she just said sinks in: "...How many other royals are here, exactly?"
