[ Steph links her hands under her knees, here eyes locked on her shoes. There's so much unspoken between them, so many experiences and emotions that Steph's too overwhelmed to even try to name. While Cass had been blaming herself, Steph had been trying to remember how to be a person again. She tried so hard to forgive herself for taking time she needed to recover, for not making exactly the right decisions while delirious with pain and guilt, but thinking about how much Cass must have suffered while she was gone is like living it all over again. If only she had been better. If only she was better now.
