[ There was a point in Gareki's young life where he accidentally shot an arrow through a swarm of gaelicats, and they had descended upon him with full vengeful fervor, ready to bleed him dry with a thousand little fang bites. This moment right here reminds him of that sorrowful day because, lacking any foresight whatsoever, Gareki did indeed fire a bullet at a swarm of them to keep the bats off a hapless baby dragon that seemed to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. The result of his poor life choices is that he's now running as fast as he can from a black cloud of screeching bats.
Should you happen to meander into his path, he will either beeline past you or tackle you to the ground and try to cover you before the bats descend. ]
I know this looks very terrible, but I did try and make peace with them!
[ No, he really did not. He just loaded his pistol and hoped for the best, and now, his plan is still honestly continuing to hope for the best, even as bats nip at his ears and tail. ]
Urgh... not to alarm you... healing salve... tell me you happen to be carrying a bit on you before I bleed out.
b. Dawn of the Dead
[ An endless sea of quests and very little payment for it. Gareki doesn't know why anyone subscribes to the adventuring life and is already sorely missing the quiet sanctity of his forge back in Kugane. There's something pleasant about the smell of burnt metal and raw ores that he's longing for deeply as he tries to get some sleep. There's a small fire next to him, and he's curled up by himself on the way back to the city, just catching a bit of rest as his arrival had taken quite a toll on him.
The remains of one medium-sized slain creature is stuffed into a knapsack for safe-keeping as Gareki begins to drift off. That is, until the bag starts to move on its own, surreptitiously crawling towards Gareki until the miqo'te is startled awake.
Should you happen to also be heading back to Camelot to finish the quest, you will find the following: a.) a giant, raging inferno because Gareki decided the best course of action was to kill it with fire and b.) a miqo'te brutally beating his knapsack with the butt of his gun. ]
Why does nothing here stay dead?!
c. wildcard me.
[ It's as the prophecy foretold. Please toss whatever at me. ]
