Wei Wuxian has gotten a lot of distance out of the tongue-in-cheek title of sand cultivator, but for this very literal usage of the eponymous ability he has nothing but bright-eyed respect. Credit where credit is due, that was pretty cool, and this trick is greeted with the kind of impressed glee formerly reserved for contraband canaries.

Nie Huaisang doesn't seem to agree, or maybe a more generous interpretation all around is that it was in fact so cool he fainted. Incredible to think he hasn't grown out of that in so many years. Could the appearance of a very alive Yiling Laozu have contributed? Doesn't seem as likely as the window thing, but if he's wrong, Nie Huaisang probably won't like this next part either. But who else is going to revive him? And not even from the dead! Klaudia certainly isn't, she's done her glass cube duty and must be treated carefully, she's a hero. And honestly, isn't Nie Huaisang luckier this way?

A few squishy steps and Wei Wuxian is there to crouch down and sort of plap at his face encouragingly with the back of his hand. Visiting the newly arrived Nie Huaisang sure is an involved process, it turns out. A lesser person might have just left with the intent to come back at a better time, but a lesser person would not have already invested so much building scaling in this endeavor. "How are you still like this? How is your skull not in pieces by now? Wake up or I'm going to splash you with floor water."
