[ Emil gazes at the person who he's paired with and then turns his attention to the magical bind that keeps their legs together. Trying to remove the spell would defeat the purpose of the three-legged race but he's curious about the magic nonetheless. Lost in his thoughts, Emil almost misses the signal given at the start of the race. ]

[ That being said, the group of snow bunnies that are resting on the path ahead makes him stop immediately. ]

[ It's impossible to ignore how quickly some people leave the cave, yet that doesn't discourage Emil. Most of them bolted out of there agitated and scared which makes him wonder what to expect to find inside.
Actually, it doesn't start all that bad for him. Sometime after stepping inside, Emil notices some familiar figures. There's a woman wearing nothing but lingerie—a white-haired man is standing next to her and it seems that a book is floating above the pair. ]
Nier! Kainé! Weiss! I thought I'd never see you again!
[ Excited to see familiar faces, Emil rushes to their side, only to watch them drop to the ground, lifeless. ]
W-What's wrong?! [ Shaking their bodies lightly, he calls out to them only to receive no answers. ] P-Please, wake up!
[ His heart won't take losing them once again. Emil's chest feels tight; he falls on his knees, struggling to catch another breath. Tears trailing down his cheeks as the bodies disappear right in front of him. Instead of leaving, Emil remains in the cave, sobbing. ]

[ The unwelcoming inn doesn't bother Emil too much; it's not the first time he's forced to camp outside the city, though he'd rather not go alone even if it means spending the night with a stranger. ]
They won't let us in, but we can camp outside, make a bonfire and tell each other stories. What do you think?
