Luke had heard other people around the shore with him, just as confused, just as wet, as he was, but he couldn't focus on them right now. Even though he could hear, it felt like he was deaf; even though he could see, he was blind. He couldn't feel anything -- he was aware of the sand under his feet, the life wandering behind him, but he couldn't sense any of it. It led to him curled up on the shoreline, trying to pull himself together and failing miserably, unhelped by the fact that he was soaking wet.
Also not helping was the krayt dragon (rather small for the species) by his side, its body curled around his arm with its head resting on his shoulder. He could understand what it was trying to do -- never mind he couldn't sense its intent -- but the look of it made it seem like it's intentions were less than kind. Sleek black scales and piercing red eyes reminded him of a certain someone that he couldn't bring himself to think about right now.
It was those red eyes that saw Pidge first, hissing faintly as she came close, like she was an actual threat. Luke flinched slightly, looking up at her, before reaching up to cover the dragon's head.

"Sorry," he mumbled, looking away.
