[ She ... she hadn't been expecting Kotone to openly acknowledge their relationship in front of Aigis so immediately. Frankly, she had no idea what to expect, or how they'd even begin to navigate this situation. She's barely had time to process Aigis's arrival, much less whatever implications her presence might have on the relationship that the three of them have built.
[ Perhaps that was what that tightness in her chest had been ... fear of what it might mean. Of how things might change between them -- all of them.
[ Seeing Kotone simply wade right in ...?
[ It was reassuring. A sign that Kotone didn't want things to change between them, and that she had faith that nothing would.
[ There was a part of Mitsuru that still pushed back against that idea - that rejected it as something too neat and tidy and painless to fit within the lives they've lived up to this point ...
