Even the monster he was faced with had to be something drawn from the debts of his imagination. Because it was definitely a monster, he could tell that much... but it was also him. It was him with features from one Emiya Shirou. Namely half of his hair still being colored orange and still the hopeful, determined smile on his face.
He went through this fight already back home. He thought he found his answer back then and could get past the problems he had. Something about Avalon had, however, made things complicated in his mind. Being still able to be with both Rin and Saber, actually being happy with them... and wishing things could remain this way.
He had begun fearing he was turning into Shirou. Being viewed as Shirou. Being the replacement of Shirou. Of course he knew he would never be used as a replacement. Not by Rin or Saber. It was an irrational fear that had led him to the path he was in now. A path to find who he was as a person. A path that was different from Emiya Shirou.]
What's wrong with wanting to be my own person?
[Sure his methods may not be the right way to go about it. Becoming a criminal instead of a hero. That might have been the wrong idea from the very beginning. He can admit that.
