Irhya's magicks feed into each other, essentially: blood is fantastic for conjuring up weaponry on the fly, and healing keeps her from falling too deeply into blood loss. It helps keep her sustained for long battles of attrition, especially if she's outmatched in terms of raw power. She's also a very capable fighter in general, with or without a blade, and she can use her blood magic to replicate many of the defenses she had back home (shields and the like).
