Granted, he did know he liked Hikaru for a longer than he was even aware and he's admitted that to Hikaru before, so they both know that it wasn't when they first met, but Taichi really wants to sound cool right now and he's okay even if he doesn't because Hikaru loves his dumbass anyway.

Either way, neither of them is letting go any time soon and they're causing enough of a scene that when Taichi leans in to kiss Hikaru after whispering "I love you" back, someone in the bar starts clapping and wiping a tear from their eye. Taichi doesn't even notice though. ]
