[ That's the thing that Hikaru probably doesn't realize-- Taichi doesn't talk about him like a lovely young gentleman. He talks about him like his lovely fiance, sure. He talks about how he's funny and attractive and smart about some stuff and talented but also a devilish brat sometimes who keeps him on his toes and doesn't understand that mustard is yellow. He brags about how he's got a High Maintenance Fiance so he's saving up for this or that because the more work you put into something or someone you love, the more worth everything they are. The image other people have after talking to Taichi isn't that Hikaru is some kind of preppy rich kid that Taichi is trying to be good enough for, but someone who's loved for who he is. Someone who makes Taichi happier than anyone else in the world, even if he isn't perfect. Taichi isn't blinded by love into not seeing the imperfections, he just loves the imperfections too. Which is probably why everyone who Taichi has told about him doesn't tend to see him as suspicious for picking up some middle-class puppy who just wants attention despite being way out of his league.
Taichi smiles brightly and signs his name to the paperwork, then holds it out to Hikaru. The man (Sebastian) tells him there's a brief magical binding they'll need to do after this to finalize after the paperwork, then the deed is done. ]
