Also while Hijikata didn't get to know Tsumugi well he really appreciated him for being such a gentle and kind boss and friend to Shoto!! Hijikata kept dragging that boy into nasty quests and battles, so he was very grateful that he had such a nice and peaceful job to balance things out a little.
