There was one rule Luz had and was beginning to depend on it as a rule of thumb: always watch for the weird ones. Luz considered herself very much in that company, so seeing a brightly green colored woman with viney her talking to horses immediately got her attention.

"I don't think they'll talk back," Luz said. "So far I've seen a talking rabbit, a wolf, a deer and even a robot! No horses though."
