"Not since my summer involved doing most of that, but before then it would definitely have shocked me. I mean, being here with you to begin with would have been something impossible if I hadn't already been to a demon world and seen much stranger stuff."

Not that she thought he was strange: if anything, she felt like she was having a pretty practical conversation with any other person, considering some of the things she'd seen talking before.

"Wait, a dog? I didn't even think an animal that talked would have another animal familiar! I mean, it'd be like if I had a talking human as MY familiar. Maybe there's something more to him and he just looks like a regular non-talking dog?"
