[Gundham leaned forward a bit, the hand that offered the seed now tearing off a bit of meat that had originally been intended for his own familiar, offering it instead to the griffin. When he spoke he muttered, mostly to himself, giving Cressida very little attention.]

Judging by its beak shape and avian features, I'm guessing it is a carnivore of some sort or at least descended from birds of prey, though its mammalian features don't seem to match up... Likely an omnivore with a preference for meat, though I could not begin to explain its behavior.

[As he talked, a small silver-furred head poked out from his scarf before catching sight of the griffin and retreating back into the scarf.]
