He was surprised when his nephew stood again but waited. When he was handed the phone, opened to the pay screen - it was the one feature he recognized, after all, he needed it to get tea - he understood. He could have asked Zuko where the money had come from, but didn't not yet. Instead he took the offered device and nodded once. "Thank you," he said, and meant it, letting warmth flow in his voice like breath. He almost asked if there was anything specific here that Zuko recommended, to get an idea of how long the boy has been here. But that could wait. He would know soon enough.

He went to the counter to order. a pot of jasmine tea and three cups, and he chose a snack they could share that he knew Zuko would enjoy as much as he would, based on what they had both enjoyed back home. The server took the payment and told him the order would be brought to their table as soon as it was ready. He thanked her and headed back to where his nephew was waiting.

He slid into his seat and offered back the phone. "The tea will be here soon, that gives us some time to begin."
