Contact: PM to jurisprudence preferred (or comment here), though I do have Plurk and Disco if those become more convenient once CR starts developing!
Character Name: Miles Edgeworth Canon: Ace Attorney
Info: Edgeworth is the protagonist's rival character and frenemy from the Ace Attorney series: a genius prosecutor who started his career at the age of 20 and racked up a perfect win record up until, y'know, Phoenix Wright Happened™. His wiki describes him as "calm and level-headed, but typically seen as a snob due to his cold, ruthless, and generally aloof nature. He has a certain lack of social skills and tact, making him very insecure and awkward around others. In fact, he was taught as a child to glare at people who looked at him, unwittingly intimidating them."
However, thanks to character development and a whole judicial conga of shitshow during which he was suspected of murder twice, actually put on trial for it once, and subsequently had some very rude awakenings about the level of corruption inherent in the legal system he'd devoted his life and career to, Edgeworth in recent times has been reevaluating a lot of his previous decisions and priorities, and is taking steps toward deciding what values he really believes in, and what course he wants to take moving into the future.
Magic & Familiar: He has Cognitive magic (investigations) and his familiar is a Phoenix, which he is fully aware of, and knows why he has it, and loathes it, and will never admit to it.
Desired CR: Honestly what I want most is:
1) To give Edgeworth the opportunity to do what he's good at, be it solving a mystery, interrogating somebody, etc. I realize that in-game police forces and judicial systems are sometimes tricky things on an OOC level in DWRP, so I'm definitely not looking for anything institutional or game-altering, but it'd be fun to give him the chance to flex his talents a little!
2) Found family, in the long-term. Edgeworth's pretty closed-off, so it'd be the ideal to have him wind up actually getting invested in someone and forging bonds with people, even if he's still Edgeworth about it.
3) Confidants! I really want to dig in to the personal issues that Edgeworth is grappling with at his current canonpoint, in terms of the life he's lived up until now and what he wants to do with himself for the future. He's kind of got his ideals sorted out, but he's the type to work through his issues in his head alone, and it'd be fun to get him talking to people who could give him the benefits of an outside perspective and even challenge some of his assumptions.
4) Someone to hit on him. (Note: he's 25.) Please put this man in the most fucking awkward position, he will not know what to do.
Known Plans: A lot of his initial interaction points are probably going to involve his dog, Pess, who I gave to him so that he wouldn't be able to just close himself off and be incredibly antisocial. I think he's also going to remain skeptical of the premise of Avalon, at least initially, and will probably do some of his own investigation into it, looking for inconsistencies and deception. Otherwise, I just want him to make friends and develop relationships! I'm super easy.
Also I really want him to do enough quests to achieve Lord status someday because Edgeworth hates receiving accolades and I think it'd be hysterical if everyone was calling him "Lord Edgeworth" and it drove him up a wall.
