[Linneus had been a climber as a child, but never a swimmer. So the abrupt arrival in the lake sparks a splashing, uncharacteristic panic as he tries to get himself above the water with no idea how precisely to do so, beyond gasping and flailing his limbs.
Thank heavens for the jellyfish steering him to shore - from there it may be up to him, but Linneus probably would never have made it out of water without their help. Though dragging himself and his wet clothes up the cliff is... not an appealing prospect. He has to sit now and gather himself first, coughing and catching his breath as the cold from the water sinks in; heedless of an ugly silt mark marring the front of otherwise quite lovely clothes from his crawl up the lake's edge.
Presently unseen to him, and only visible to others when they aren't directly looking, his familiar whizzes about him - a glowing fairy not more than four inches tall that seems almost to be made of light, landing occasionally on his shoulder or his hair and fluctuating an agitated amber and red.]

[Thank heavens not just for the jellyfish, but for the Shit Box as well - though Linneus would never say those words out loud! It's not a wide selection of his possessions, but he takes the opportunity to get changed quite gladly, ducking aside to somewhere a little more private to rid himself of the (quite done for) clothes he washed up in. An almost-shy dip of his head as he returns to the carriages-]
For a moment I feared I'd be in my wet clothes for the entire journey...!

[the technology is... not new, by any means; he had been on Amoi long enough to see far stranger contraptions. But that didn't mean Linneus had much experience using them himself. He had grown used to a device that could take images, play sounds, but its capabilities were quite enough on its own without the need to have the sounds funnelled into his own ears. So if he seems a little lost with his earbuds in his hands, he probably is.]
Are these-- should they go... all the way? I've never worn them myself.
((OOC - perhaps he might convince it to colour-coordinate with him later, but for now the colour of Linneus' familiar changes based on his mood :) ))
