Traejan Lightrend | World of Warcraft (OC) | Dark / Death + Undead Crypt Lord (Familiar)

↳ { i. safety not guaranteed; }
[ cw: death (specifically, a dead bird), necromancy, insects and insect-like things ]

[ one of the magic teachers keeps eyeing the over six-and-a-half feet of fully armed and armoured elf (not including his long, mobile ears) sitting on a rock near the training grounds from a short distance away, but that's understandable. he makes people nervous on purpose. at his side stands a skeleton as tall as he is wearing a horned helm with various other pieces of armour grafted right to its bones. its bones are also engraved up and down with glowing blue runes, although since coming to avalon the glow is purely cosmetic. the same can be said of the identical runes engraved in the metal of traejan's left arm because — oh yeah, his entire left arm has been replaced with a mechanical one. one of two cruel-looking one-handed blades is leaned up against the rock, the second laid across his knees. on his other side, opposite the skeleton, is an insect-like creature that makes a series of clicking sounds. ]

Yes, I'm assuming if they want us to use magic, they can't also be picky...

[ meaning he fully intends to keep on doing what he's doing and figure out if it's illegal or at least a taboo later. what currently has his attention is the corpse of a crow that's laid out on the ground in front of him. focused, he holds the blade out, the point aimed at the bird. the metal of the sword isn't attuned to the magic of this world as it is to the magic in his own world, but the power doesn't work the same way anyway. hence the practise session. it's mostly a mental thing until he can get used to how it feels around here, the runes on the weapon flickering weakly as he channels the spell through it, but ultimately they go dark again as soon as he's not.

the bird starts twitching in fits and starts until finally, it gets up struggling with jerky, stiff movements to find its feet, and when it does, it's still not quite steady, but it's alive. you know... more or less. traejan eyes the crow critically, pulling the odd goggles he's wearing down to hang around his neck and crunches something between his teeth that sounds like hard candy. ]

It's a bit pathetic, isn't it?

[ apparently who he's talking to is the bug creature, which makes more clicking noises in return that he can apparently understand as language as he gives the thing a vaguely irritated look and answers it. ]

...That was a rhetorical question.
↳ { ii. weekend at bernie's merlin's; }
[ get it? 'cause he's dead. traejan only appears once everything's wrapped up as far as the ship business goes because he's had about enough water just in coming to this world. but he will never refuse free food, which is why he's partaking in the buffet arrangement.

he doesn't much object to the swimsuit spell, although the black shorts he's wearing are pretty form-fitting and small. they also have no pockets, so he's just tucked his phone in between the waistband and his hip. and is that a little skull pattern in gold? it sure is. like this, there's nothing at all to hide the long scar that runs from beneath his right ear diagonally to his left hip. it stands out boldly against his skin thanks to the thick, cable-like stitching that runs the length of it. that possibly explains his skin's grey undertone since that doesn't seem like a very healthy sort of pallor. the runes etched into the metal of his left arm are repeated elsewhere as well, running in vertical lines down each limb as well as down his spine. there's plenty of other scars and such as well, but nothing else significant enough to stand out on its own; a lot is going on as-is.

he looks over at whoever's in line next to him, serving tongs in hand as he's picking through pieces of meat to add to what's already on his plate (guess what: more meat) and finding the selection of cuts for this particular dish leave something to be desired. ]

I see human mages in this world can't manage to conjure food that isn't ridiculously overcooked any better than they can in Azeroth. Here—...

[ whether you were planning on it or not, congratulations! there's now a sizeable chunk of saucy meat in the middle of your plate. not that it looks overcooked at all; mostly it looks like a perfectly normal bit of beef, cooked to about medium-rare. ]
↳ { iii. a generous benefactor; }
[ cw: the same as the fighting ring prompts ]

[ traejan looks right at home sprawled out in his cage-side seat, drink in hand as he watches the fights and places bets. he couldn't be happier to find something like this going on, having wanted an easy way to make some money as soon as possible because there is no way he can exist in any world and be poor. are you kidding?

he's got a good eye for this sort of thing, almost like he's done it before, sizing up the different fighters during the hand-to-hand combat rounds. he's definitely playing to win, not above sending weapons and enhancements to the fighters that obviously have the most experience even if they don't really need any help to crush the more inexperienced combatants. overkill doesn't matter as much as the winnings.

and for those who are hesitant and perhaps aren't too keen on actually hurting their opponent, he has a little... encouragement? ]

You realise this is a blood sport, don't you? That means at least one of you should be bleeding already! I'll pay whichever one of you draws first blood myself if it'll make this more interesting...
↳ { iv. wildcard; }
[ ooc; interested in anything else? hmu @ [plurk.com profile] koutenko to plot something! there is also an album with some references here since this is a whole lot of descriptions lmao ]
