above water ( magic sure is interesting. sure, it's not unfamiliar to Calanthe — hard to even pretend it is when you've made a rose blossom on the tip of your coworker's finger, laughing at her expression all the white — but changing her clothes into a swimsuit is something new. and new is always fun. she almost wants to ask that guy just how he made that work, whether she can do it too, but there's no time.
all play and no work makes Calanthe a dull weapon, after all.
so it is with a reluctant sigh, and a mental note to herself to check that out later, that Calanthe turns to the nearest person with a smile. )
So. How should we do this?
( gosh, when's the last time she worked with anyone? even Rose doesn't tag along on her adventures. she's usually off on her own.
how novel this will be. )
underwater ( healing may not be as pointless as Calanthe originally thought. certainly, it isn't as fun as her powers back home, but it's been a great boon in getting around underwater.
unfortunately for us all, travelling underwater means running into a Fuath who lingers outside the ship, watching with sharp eyes through the frame of a shattered window as Calanthe plucks out a candlestick from among the wreckage of a room.
and, when she sees it, she smiles as though greeting a friend. after all, this guy is certainly different. and curiosity is always better than needless fear. )
Do you want something? We've got—
( the Fuath's sharp gaze narrows to a glare, and whoever is near Calanthe right now might want to tell her to stop looking through the wreckage and start looking at the nine foot tall spirit that wants to launch her into space. )
— cursed kidnapees.
waiting area ( where on earth is she now? this is... annoying. she has nothing against a party or a crowded room, but at least ask her first.
good grief. even Central wouldn't pull this, and they shoved her in a room with nothing to do but read for a year. )
Is this some sort of budget rave?
( she smiles at the person she speaks to despite the situation. no reason to panic just yet, after all. )
in the ring ( no magic, huh? she can work with that. it's not as efficient, but Central sure didn't skimp on the physical part of her training either, though it may be hard to tell by looking at the petite, white haired young woman with her equally white dress (slightly marked and marred by this whole kidnapping deal, but that's a rage she's suppressing until she gets a chance to do something about it). )
Let's fight fairly, okay~?
( which is all she says before removing her eyepatch, settling her feet into a firmer position where she stands.
making the first move is so passe in fights, after all. better to let your opponent telegraph their plans first. )
