Red Spring (A. Around town) [Shinra's still trying to get his head wrapped around what happened. From the explanation, he keeps hearing words and names that remind him of Arthur’s delusional knight bullshit so a small part of him thinks this is all one big prank. But the set up is too elaborate to be a prank so he has no choice but to go along as all the newcomers are ushered onto caravans to go into town.
In any case, currently he's wandering around town, not really sure what he should do. He'd tried to buy some shoes earlier using the phone they were given only to find that he actually had no money on it. The shopkeeper wasn't very happy about that. Sure, he used to spend a lot of time barefoot before but that's also because he could fly. Now without his Ignition Abilities, it means he's going to have to spend more time walking and he’d rather have some kind of footwear for that.
No choice but to gather up his courage and ask a stranger for help...]
Uhhh... you know where I can get some shoes? Preferably free. I just got here so I don't have any money...
Red Spring (B. Training grounds) [It’s a relief when Shinra finds out he has elemental magic. He already knows how to deal with fire so he figures that’s the best starting point. After a quick crash course on fire magic from one of the teachers, he starts his training out small—making fire appear, making it disappear, changing its size and shape. It’s not too bad, almost similar to his Ignition Abilities. As he gets the hang of it, he starts to get a little more confident. Maybe a little too confident.
It doesn’t feel right not having fire coming from his feet so instead of creating fire in his palm like the teacher taught him, he concentrates to have it appear around his feet instead. After a few tries, he succeeds. In his excitement, he forgets this isn’t his normal Ignition and ups the fire power in order to fly. Except he puts in a little too much power and instead of the gentle float he was expecting, he propels himself across the training grounds. His shaky control of his magic fails him at this point so he no longer has any way to stop himself.
Hopefully anyone in his way has quick reflexes.]
Oh shit—Hey! Watch out! Out of the way!
Ship Clean up [Turns out cleaning a ship that’s been under water is A Lot of work. The mop Shinra has is already way too caked in algae to actually clean anymore. He’s pretty sure at this point he’s just pushing grime around from one spot to another. So really, there's no point in continuing.
Complaining isn’t good work ethic but he’s tired. Besides, this is only the second time he's ever been on a ship and this one looks way cooler than the first one so he’s itching to have a look around.
If he’s going to slack off though, he doesn’t want to do it alone so he calls out to the person cleaning closest to him.]
Ugh this sucks. Hey, wanna ditch and explore the ship instead?
