Kate genuinely appreciates Kaede. She feels weirdly protective of him because he clearly has zero braincells but also no opposition to poisoning old men. One day they are going to get involved in some Messed Up Shit and she's just going to be like "what the fuck made you the way you are" because she knows why she's a morally-messed up disaster but like. Kaede. Sweetie.

I think she could definitely come to trust him. She already does with Questy-Murdery stuff but one day. One day personal trust will happen. TT_TT

but no seriously. You know how there's like, two options when people interact with others of a similar personality? You either love them or want to kill them? I would have honestly put money on the latter if you'd asked me about their CR in advance but APPARENTLY I WAS WRONG.

Their unfortunate (for them) trend of being Exposed (emotionally) in front of each other does a lot to help this TBH. They're on mostly equal footing when it comes to that so there's less bristling about the whole mortifying ordeal, so the rest of their similarities shine through more easily. He kind of manages to eke out the most trust from her so far mostly because she's somewhat assured that they both have shit on each other lmao.

Though at the same time she would like to know more about him because facades recognise facades. I think they could end up having a lot of good conversations once they fully get over that hurdle of ew someone knows things about me. also, like, his lap is a good place to sit. that helps.

P.S. if Kaede stabs him she will be upset and definitely making out that it's Just Because she put all that effort into rescuing him from her doppelganger and if he was going to die she could have just left him to die then, Obviously. Not because they're, like, friends, or anything.

Kate genuinely likes Caster. She feels like there's still a fair amount she doesn't know about her but the pieces are coming together and she can see something of herself in Caster in the poor decisions made in grief and being less than morally upstanding. She appreciates having people around her who won't judge that kind of stuff (and even join in on it) because, as much as she loves her brother, that sometimes happens with him.

And she definitely feels for Caster about losing her brother, hahahaha. RIP. God, I really need an event where Caster can get an idea of Kate and Marc's relationship because it would be Interesting, given where they're likely gonna end up.

MAN, Kate is... oddly conflicted about Ken. She likes him and thinks he's a good kid, but also: he's a good kid and she doesn't know how to handle that without feeling incredibly conscious of the fact she is not a good person. He shines an uncomfortable mirror on her own behaviour TBH, even if he doesn't actively mean to do that. But she appreciates him for helping her break the ice with her familiar, even if their interactions still seem very :|, they do get on now!

Kate and Akira both definitely have a case of "I'd rather the other party talked about themselves than I talked about me" going on, which is always fun to navigate. She enjoys spending time with him and thinks he's a good partner for questy business, though she probably wouldn't invite him on dark web quests in the future. She'd definitely like to get to understand him on a deeper level at some point!
