Machi Kuragi Fruits Basket Enable me, please!

Machi spent most of her young life trying to please her parents (particularly her mother). Embroiled in a bitter inheritance battle over her father's wealth Machi was pushed to be perfect in everything so she could trump her half-brother. When the battle was called off and her younger brother born Machi suddenly found herself no longer needed. "I'm like a doll with missing parts. A broken doll unable to become human." While she comes off as aloof Machi is someone who ends up taking note of things others may not. She's very kind in her own way, often doing things without explaining why she's doing them but is honestly doing them for a good reason. She can be overly blunt when she talks but she never tries to lie, only deflect when she's uncomfortable. Watching Yuki change from afar has given Machi the impetuous to try to reason out why she can't change herself. I think Avalon could be a good place for her to grow, for her to learn about herself and her tastes and desires. Given a place disconnected from her family where she won't face the harsh judgements of her peers or their opinions I think she has ever chance of becoming someone she never thought she could before. Magic wise I'm thinking maaaybe animal magic? Maybe cognitive?

Why can I see cooking lessons where Machi is just deliberately messy and/or deliberately makes thinks just a little off-kilter so nothing is *too* perfect.

Also please clean her room.

Oh god, is this how Cake Wrecks comes to Avalon? And I've missed you too! And it gives me an excuse for Mako to get Tohru CR!

You know it. Machi's that person that sees a decorated cake and moves one of the decorations out of alignment. Or outright eats one of them just so it's imperfect somehow.

Machi! More Fruits Basket! At least in rp these two can interact?

She is def an interesting character and yeah like you said somewhere apart from her family might be good in helping her distance from that drama and try keep learning on what she wants and likes for herself.

I'm going for Animal and Blood magic for Kyo. And I thiiiink I have a familiar in mind maybe. So yeah gonna. Try this time for the angry cat. Either from around vol six with the True Form reveal or like. beach arc or so for canon point.

Awww bless, I love Kyo. I remember reading once in some comments on YT I think if only Kyo heard her call Yuki an airhead he'd have liked her instantly, lol.

Canon point wise I'm not wholly decided yet. I'm thinking maybe the end of season 2 or around the time s3 ep10 simply so she knows what Tohru is to Yuki. B/c I really do like the idea of her liking Tohru if for no other reason than how much she's helped him and Machi herself as well.

I'm still mulling on the familiar as well as the secondary magic. I like the mix you've got going on there too!

Yup. Machi gets it that Yuki isn't Mr Perfect Prince etc. Kyo approves. Or at least I think he would. I do wish we got more interaction between certain characters.

But yeah canon point wise I would assume most anything would be fine since the manga has been out way longer than a month and so has Another. I would just be mindful on later canon with regards to the newer anime that some might not be up to date in going off of just the anime so maybe warning just in case. But I don't think it should be an issue with regards to the mods one month rule.

Animal magic was an obvious choice and I figured given the backstory for his beads. Blood Magic made sense to me there. Familiar is a harder one though, I hope you think of something. Maybe some sort of shapeshifter? In how she was initially changing or trying to based on what she thought others wanted of her in pleasing her parents?

Oooh I like the shapeshifter idea! TY for that, I'll have to look around and see what I come up with.

And thank you for the reminder about anime-only spoilers for folks. I haven't read the manga in years admittedly so I'm working largely off the anime. I may sit down and re-read eventually though.

Happy to try help with ideas! I'm sure there are prob some examples in Japanese myths and such sort of thing if you Google, probably. And, same, yeah I'd be going off of the manga but I have had a refresh anyway in having been watching the new series as it has been airing. I'm still kinda coming to terms that it is over now as of yesterday, though I hear they are doing a separate thing for Kyoko and Katsuya's backstory which I did wonder why it wasn't in the series itself so. That is indeed gonna be a thing.

It will certainly be interesting with cr between these two though in who we have/plan to app in game.

I'm biased, but I'd love to see Machi here! Tohru and Machi don't really interact canonly, so it'd be interesting to explore that in RP. ;w;

This is definitely my greatest wish and desire. I need this to heal my heart now that the anime is done, I really do.
