What Draws You To Your Character?
Hey, it's a not-meme.
One thing I always find fascinating in this hobby is what draws people to the characters they play so this is me asking you that.
Read, converse, ask questions!
You can answer in list form, prose form, whatever form you're most comfortable with and with as much or as little detail as you want.

What drew you to your characters? What do you find fun about them? What aspects of them do you find easy or difficult?
For OCs, talk about how you came up with the idea for them and why you wanted to give them a spin in this hobby.

Homura | Senran Kagura
I wasn't originally drawn to Homura at first. But over time, as I started to think about the plot more and more, I was drawn to playing her. I guess I'm drawn to characters with tragedy, but more with stuff I can relate to. Plus with wanting to play a more active character, someone who emotes much easier than the like of Hei or the Demi-Fiend, she suddenly became one of my favorite characters to play.
That said, her fierce attitude combined with dorkiness shown off later in the Hebijo story of Senran Kagura truly made her my go to character. I had to play that route at least five times, and I still enjoy it each time I go through it. The way Homura interacts with her team, from leadership skills, to learning to accept them as friends, to even helping people like Mirai with their issues while dealing with her own personal problems was all good stuff.
Though that's not the only reason. Her canon hasn't been kind to her lately, as it seems to ignore her accomplishments and treat her like too much like an idiot; she's not the only one to go through such a phase. I mean I love her being a dork, but it kinda went too far in some places; don't get me started on Shinovi Master. So RPing her, I kinda wanted to bring back her strengths. While she never attended high school, she is trained to kill strong shinobi and Yoma, has leadership experience, etc. At least in this game, she can try to build herself back up while helping others. And possibly improve over time too.
What do I find fun about Homura?
Her connections to others and how they are surprisingly easy to form thanks to her current canon. Homura being a dork also helps add to all of this. Because of her attitude, she is able to get along with those like Caster and not fully judge them for their past, considering what she herself went through. And because of her own failings and development, she's more than willing to try and get others back on the path they want, make them stronger too. There's more than just some dork who loves to fight. Granted, I also love those parts too; it's why she has been training and doing almost nothing else here besides quests.
What aspects do I find easy or difficult?
Ninja tools, the martial arts she knows, the extent of her abilities and scaling them to "normal levels" and a bunch of other stuff. I did do some research, but also trying to keep things balanced can be hard to think of. Her past is also kinda difficult to get a good grasp on, so I had to look at her fears and strengths to guess how her previous family treated/trained her. I'm also afraid of stepping on toes of others too much, but that's a general RP fear I have yet to conquer. Also in trying to find a suitable fighting style now that she lacks all six swords; I will try and work for regains for them one day.
What I find easy....well she can be blunt and usually isn't afraid to hold back her words. Plus given her dork status, it does allow some leeway for dumber stuff, like getting drunk at a certain party, or antics around her familiar and the Saber doll.
