He watches his fellow new arrivals practice with a frown. He's half-heartedly tried the suggested spells, but none have worked. Some poor soul's explaining alchemy over a solid rock in the clearing right now---Kaiba shakes his head, even as he precisely copies a sigil to humor them. ]
That's what we did before chemistry. Turning things to gold. Or supposed elixirs of life. But chemical reactions have known structure, this rock isn't going to turn into rubber!
[ He copies the gesture, goes to kick the rock---and as it skids away, it has a distinctly rubbery bounce before exploding. He's just gonna...gape at it for a moment, his serpent flicking her tongue as if laughing. Hopefully that didn't hurt anyone. ]

[ By now, someone has reluctantly conceded the points that he does in fact have a new ability, he lives here until further notice, and he needs to survive until returning home is possible. That means getting paid when he doesn't yet have the means to run a business. And that means being an errand boy.
It's been a difficult but uneventful trip through the dark, but they've reached the altar and its instructions. He's seen legends like this before, and approaches the altar with the cups. ]
Right. This is usually the part where the trap is revealed and the arrows start flying.
