The man's in good spirits! Good. It would be annoying if he helped out only for the gesture to be sneered at. And as that's not the case, it even has the bonus effect of improving Walter's own mood.

"Next," he begins, lifting his hand and curling his fingers into a fist, "We break that little shield of yours."

He typically doesn't use punching in his fighting technique — preferring the use of his much more lethal wires — but his gloves sport metal rings at each finger, which in combination with the proper application of kinetic magic should produce enough force in a small enough area to do a good bit of damage.

"It might take a moment though. Don't want to go too hard on it after all." The human body is a fragile thing, and as apparent as it is that whatever powers or augmentations they had originally are gone, he reasons that it wouldn't be too far-fetched to think that they might all be about as durable as your typical ordinary human.
