[Morgan looks briefly perplexed, running a hand through his hair to make sure it hadn't gotten tangled. Rather obstinately, his sword just hangs in midair next to him.]

[Satisfied that it isn't too mussed, he rolls his head to stretch his neck, then turns back to face her fully.]

That's the sort of thing someone says when they're losing and their technique isn't working. Although I'll grant it isn't a very fair fight when I'm not giving you a chance.

[They who commit first, lose. The moment they surrender flexibility, they open themselves up to a counter. So long as he can embrace that principle fully, and he's pretty good at it, an assault on him doesn't work. But that's ultimately a losing proposition in the long term, because a real enemy can just go around, and then you have to commit to stop them. And in a real fight you can't just defend, you need to end it.]

[Martial arts, the physical aspect of it, is really an incredible study in how to win under a set of assumptions that literally never exist.]

[Drawing his hands out of his pockets, he lifts them in front of himself in a relaxed pose, easing himself closer with a couple of short steps. No charging in for him!]
