A ⦿ Soaking in Your Arrival
Regardless of what you were in the middle of, you and your familiar have been magically pulled into the world of Avalon just above the Bay's waters. After a brief plunge into the Bay, the rush of water filling your ears and soaking up into every creak and crevice of your body, you may need to cough to clear your airways when you rise above the surface. It's still chilly, but not enough that you can't manage on your own. The Lady of the Lake is swimming around under the water, helping to rescue any wayward travelers who look like they're struggling in the water. This month's helpers are giant pillow jellies, a species of jellyfish that is capable of ballooning itself at the surface to create bouncy pads for characters to hop across to the shore, should they choose or not be able to swim. They come in a variety of bioluminescent colors, but do not seem to be very talkative even to animal magic users. Those who try may find themselves being ignored, even if they hear the jellies talking amongst themselves about this and that. If anyone tries to ask the Lady of the Lake for directions, she will direct you to Archimedes at the Rent-a-Ride. The shores themselves are littered with new arrivals complaining their way up a staircase carved into the walls of the White Cliffs. There is no railing, so be careful, but if you do fall, be prepared for a mysterious sand hand to reach out of the side of the cliffs to catch you. The hand will pat you atop the head twice before retreating back into the wall. This is the Cliff Beast; despite the name, he is quite friendly. (Though.. given how hot and muggy the weather is this first week, maybe you might want to ask him to toss you right back into the lake where the waters are still cool.) *Reminder: Your character's familiar may or may not be with your character in their initial plunge. If the familiar isn't partial to water, it may meet your character on the beach or sit atop their head while they swim. Or if they are, they might splash about and swim alongside your character. Familiars have different personalities and body specs and we leave those up to the players. B ⦿ The Caravan to Camelot
These carriages use fae technology that combats weight, so your character will be able to get in regardless of whether they're light as a feather or weigh two tons. The carts have air conditioning when it's hot, heating when it's cold, and a mystical shield to protect from bugs. There is also a mini-bar that pops out of the console with whole coconuts filled with tropical drinks and topped with tiny umbrellas. Strawberry daiquiris, pina coladas, margaritas, mai tais, and more... all frosty and in the spirit of keeping you cool during the sunny month of August. (Naturally, virgin editions are available for the underaged.) Characters can use their smartphones to connect to Camelot's internet service, ![]() C ⦿ The Red Spring
If you don't want to relax in the room, try taking a dip in the spring for another chance to meet your fellow travelers. The waters have restorative properties that help horses and travelers recover quickly when drunk. It is known to relieve stress, improve energy levels, and mildly accelerate healing. It may be a little chilly when you get out though, so make sure you don't slip rushing back indoors when you get out! The springs are also home to a large training grounds just outside town limits, where there are teachers who will teach basic magic safety and help you discover what kind of magic you have together with other new arrivals. Try target practice, obstacle courses, meditation circles, and other ways to try to figure out just what you can do... if you didn't already have an accidental discovery on the ride there. ![]()
With communications with Elphame in Celliwig disrupted by specters and Arthur temporarily decommissioned, the Hall of Mirrors is temporarily off limits for cleansing rituals. Celliwig has encouraged people to return to Camelot for the time being, which is just as well with all the newcomers flooding in. Last month's new arrivals through the old guard got an introduction to the new aquatic mounts and there are now plenty of people versed in how to handle and work with the magical alpacapies, mossatees, and deinosuchus. As scout parties head out further, there are a few problems that they've run into that need a helping hand from Camelot's otherworldly population.
B ⦿ Clash of the Titans
C ⦿ Fresh Waters
Or if you weren't so lucky, you may find yourself waking up on a slightly different shore. An underwater shore. An underwater town, in fact. After the initial panic of realizing that you're not drowning when you wake up settles in, you'll realize that you seem to be able to breathe underwater just fine. In fact, the real panic is probably about to start when you realize that like the fine people of this town that saved you, you've been temporarily gifted gills and a bottom lower half of either a merperson, a naga, or a cecaelia. Your caretaker, a nurse of the local town, offers the explanation that the only way to save everyone from drowning was to pull them into their territory, which is cursed to turn them all into sea monsters. Not to worry though, as long as you leave before the sun sets on the third day, you'll turn back to normal just fine. ...Though, they're not really sure when that was or if they battle is over, so you should probably find your friends and any possessions you had with you and start heading toward the surface. Not too much time to explore this strange, underwater town... especially since you don't have much practice not having legs to get you up to the surface. Don't worry, if you don't make it out in time, the Lady of the Lake will come fetch you... though perhaps not in time, so you may need to spend some time back in Camelot seeking out someone to break a curse. ![]()
Arthur is injured and recovering, and news has spread on social media about it. There are lots of well-wishers and gifts being sent to the castle... enough that there's just too much for Arthur to do anything with it. He needs time to recover and rest and not be bothered, and as such declares that all those who need it shall share in the wealth and generosity of those wishing him well. The abundance (Especially from guilty Celliwigians who didn't realize what was happening right under their own noses) results in a few things happening...
B ⦿ Swap Meet
C ⦿ Healing Circle After Party

[ Oh. He's not a member of Team A--she might not have met all of them yet, but she can at least remember their photos--but is that really his first thought? Fighting? Why don't Masters ever want to be friends? What is wrong with you, mage society? ]
Why would I wanna fight? Because of a Grail? No thanks.
no subject
Then again, he didn't know most of the Magi he fought up until he fought them.]
I already won. The Grail, back home. [Because that is the proper response to her words, to point out you've won your war, good job Hakuno.]
no subject
[ She's got a stash back home. She doesn't need another one. As long as retrieving it ends this weird little potential Singularity and lets her go home, that's all that really matters to her. ]
Besides... how would we even fight? I dunno about you, but I'd be like, baby slapfight contestant number one.
no subject
[Getting deleted by one Grail is enough for him, he doesn't want to know what could happen in this place.]
Well, someone would probably find it entertaining?
[Hakuno isn't really more than baby slapfight material as well.]
no subject
Probably... but honestly? If I'm gonna be someone's entertainment, at least make them pay me for it first. I've got college to worry about. ...Eventually.
[ Even if the world has possibly been destroyed twice over, she's still going to think about her future!! But she sighs, finally trying to wring some water out of her skirt. ]
I don't suppose you've got any idea where we are, do you?
no subject
At least you have stuff like that to worry about.
[Hakuno says it almost casually, as if having no future is normal. Of course at her question about knowing where they are? He shakes his head in a negative fashion.]
No clue, I know this isn't SE.RA.PH though.
no subject
[ Ah. She chokes on nothing but air, a full solid ten seconds of coughing and wheezing as she tries to process. ]
Please don't tell me BB's messing with stuff again. Please. Lie to me if you have to.
no subject
[When she starts to choke on nothing he's moving to make sure she doesn't die, but what she says next just gets a blank look from him.]
I have no idea who that is.
no subject
[ After this (incredibly reasonable, in her opinion) declaration, she simply lets herself tip over again, to flop onto the ground. Oh boy. What if this is another bizarre timeloop? BB probably wouldn't be that sloppy to start with, but still... ]
Hey, can you do me a favor? [ As she says this, she lifts an arm, holding it out to him. ] Pinch me, so I can tell if I'm dreaming or not.
no subject
You want me to pinch you... Okay. [He's pretty good at doing what he's told to do, so he's going to reach out and pinch that offered arm. Not hard, because he doesn't actually want to hurt her after all.]
no subject
[ It's more instinct than it actually hurting, but it's still a little bit of a sting. She holds up her hand to stare at it, flexing her fingers. ]
Okay. Confirmed awake. Probably. I don't know if that makes me feel better or worse.
no subject
[He's trying to be cheerful here, but really he's just confused and lost about this as she probably is, even with it being confirmed (for her) to not be a dream.]
And you can feel whatever way you want to, I guess, Miss.
no subject
[ She sighs, then lifts her hands to smack her own face a couple of times. ]
Okay! Okay. Not a dream, which means that things aren't going to just fix themselves. I don't suppose you've seen any landmarks or anything nearby?
no subject
Well, there's a big cliff with stairs on it. I'm guessing we could climb that and probably get a better view of what's around here?
[And hey, he's even going to offer a hand to her to help her get up. If she wants it that is.]
no subject
...Huh. Yeah, that's probably the best place to start. We'd at least be able to tell if there's even people at all here.
[ If there's not, maybe the whole "becoming one with the beach" thing can be bumped back up on the afternoon's agenda. ]
no subject
[He's being optimistic, all things considered, but mostly for her sake than his own. Since he's not holding out hope for running into anyone he knows here. (Fate/protag life, really.)]
Although I think I saw other people end up in the water too, it's probably best to get moving than to just lay about...
[Let us just nip the becoming one with the beach thing in the butt.]
no subject
When in doubt, go where the people are. I can get behind that. ...Even if it's not people I know.
[ She doesn't know about the Servants who are from the fsn branch who are here, but she's at least familiar with the concept of just because you know them doesn't mean they'll know you. ]
Okay, let's do it.
no subject
They can help, at least. Let's go.
[And he'll start to head towards the cliff, having let go of her hand by now too and hoping she'll follow him. And hey, at least she's lucky to know anyone here.]
no subject
dayweekthe rest of your lifewhile. But now that Hakuno is moving, she breaks into a trot after him.]
--I'm Ritsuka, by the way. Fujimaru Ritsuka.
no subject
And right, introductions. He'd almost forgot about that and then she went ahead and did it first.]
Nice to meet you, Fujimaru-san. I'm Hakuno, Kishinami Hakuno if you want to be technical.
no subject
[ Also, she does not (yet?) say, Fujimaru-san still makes her feel like she's being scolded by her teachers from school, or maybe like her mother. Whomp whomp. ]
Nice to meet you too, though. All weird circumstances aside.
no subject
[He finds it a little weird to not be formal, because they don't really know each other after all, but if that's what she wants then he'll do it.]
Yeah, considering what I came from this is pretty tame? At least it's not deletion.
no subject
[ Is that the slang kids are using? Either way, that sounds pretty permanent. ]
I agree it could be a lot worse. [ "No one's tried to kill me in the past five minutes, including you!" is... ruder than she is willing to say, but the thought does pop into her head. ] But you know what, I'll take it.
no subject
Let's just say SE.RA.PH and the moon cell are picky about who wins their Holy Grail.
[If she asks, he most certainly will explain better but for now? They're at the steps up, and he'll gesture for her to lead the way. You know just in case she slips or something he could catch her, he's helpful like that.]
no subject
[ The more she hears about what "proper" Holy Grail Wars are like, the less she likes them. Sounds like bad news all the way down!
She has to take a moment to make a face at the stairs--really? no handrails at all?--then steps forward. Thank goodness for proper boots, even if they're a little squelchy from the earlier dip. ]
