I think you're so good at making me laugh that it must be like a magic power of yours or something. I also think your optimism is really beautiful. I always thought I was optimistic, but I think you're more optimistic than me.
Comprehension of the idea that it's our desires that lead to our suffering. It's a religious philosophy that I ascribed to up till then, but never truly understood as it was meant to be. But then I gained a love, and lost her, and gained a wife, and lost her, and I learned how to let go, to find the balance between accepting life for what it is and changing life to what it should be.
That's a lot to take in. So who you are is a direct result of things you experienced. Considering what you've gone through, I think that kind of change really is an optimistic one. A lot of people would have gone the opposite direction.
Yeah, that's Stormborn. Not particularly happy about having the potential to be him, let me tell you. But to that point, it's a direct result of what I experienced and who I experienced it with. I had people who, for some godforsaken reason, cared about me and worked to help me through everything. When I had to rebuild, I had a strong foundation to build on. And I sure knew what mistakes to avoid!
I'm really glad you had people to help you get through it. You might not be who you are today if it weren't for them, after all. And I'm very glad that you're here today and that you are you!
Especially here. People put so many walls in front of themselves to keep them from happiness. So laughter is all the more precious for people who don't get the chance.
I'm beginning to think that's a commonality. Have you met Claude at all? He seems to do the exact same thing. I bet you guys would get along really well.
Oh no, no, no! When two dumbasses meet, they must aggressively battle for dominance as the alpha dumbass. Only one can retain the coveted title of high dumbass -- the second just becomes 'cute' or 'quaint' or gets a brief smile before all attention turns to the idiot potentate. And if I had to take myself even slightly seriously I would wither and die, so it's a terrible risk for me.
Oh, I didn't realise I had to fight him too. Because we just kind of worked together and it all really clicked. But I also think we might have inadvertently bothered one of his friends? I kind of got carried away and might have enjoyed teasing him a little too much.
Either way, I do think you'd like him a lot. He's pretty cool. And a bit like you, too! But not so much that I think you guys would have to fight for dominance or anything. But if you do have gladiatorial combat or something, I'd like to watch!
