Character Name: Darin Altway
Canon: Original Character
Info: Darin is your pretty standard JRPG/Shounen style protagonist from a high fantasy styled world. He's a hot-blooded master blacksmith with a smart mouth and a heart of gold, but he's often hindered by feelings of crippling self-doubt and self-worth due to some tragic events in his past. That, and the fact that he's (not-so) secretly the living embodiment of a God of Destruction that was prophesied to destroy his world. But now he's here so it's all good! Right?

Desired CR: As always, I am up for and welcome all types of CR. That goes for bosom buddies, close friends and questing partners, people who wish to work at his forge (He has a business which can be seen here!), people to snark at but eventually grow to be close, and of course, negative CR. Darin is highly passionate about things he stands for and cares about and coupled with his temper and own lack of self-worth, he can easily be tricked or manipulated. He also has a fair number of good friends and CR here that, if put into a position of danger, he would likely go Destructo God if pushed to a horrible point. So, if you want a large scale shounen/JRPG battle with an explosive pay-off, I'm definitely here to offer up Darin!
Known Plans: Aside from questing this month, I plan to use a homeworld regain with the traders for Darin to obtain something from the future in his canon that has to deal with figuring out what he is, exactly. It will likely be a book chronicling the story of the god that's tethered to him and could shed some light on his abilities, why he was chosen, etc. I'm still figuring out the details of it, but if anyone wants to help/work with him on that, I'll certainly be making a post about it. There's also a fair share of his CR that have no idea that he's a demon lord and I would totally be cool with them finding out for various results!

Well, he's doing Hot Knights and Jailbreak from the Quests and getting tattooed for the equinox. What quests do you have picked out for Darin?

Oh my god. Honestly, I was interested in Hot Knights but also was really really looking at those guardians. If Zidane is getting tattooed I think there's some interesting stuff there.

Yes... I'm thinking the tattoo is a crystal because why not.

I mean, might as well hammer home that symbolism. So, if Zidane is getting a tattoo he's going to need a caretaker, right?

Seeing how Hijikata knows what's up with Darin he'll happily stick his nose into the chronicles of his homeworld with him! Let's see if there isn't something that can be done about those Archfiends (~~maybe amped-up insecticide?~~).

NGL, Darin and Hijikata have such good chemistry, I'm excited to have them dig into this. Also, I'd love to work them into some kind of good plot if one arises where they can really cut loose shounen style

Yesss. Hijikata is so stubborn, he just isn't content with accepting that Darin's fate can't be changed! And heck yep, let's toss the guys at the next big battle opportunity where they can go ham (I'm thinking of something like the titan pelicans, but if you come up with something different for them just ping me)!

In the meantime I'll keep an eye out for Darin mulling over his new lore...

Man I really want to do something with Darin and get him talking with Emet. Just not sure what. Was Darin aware that Emet was responsible for the murders last month?

I wanted to get in on that plot, but alas, life decided to step in and laugh in my face. But I would totally be interested in having them have a chat again. Would Emet tell Darin about that? How much of that is public knowledge?

I figure that it was at least mentioned in whatever passes for the daily news rounds in Avalon. So if he keeps up with that then it's very easy for him to discover what Emet did! It would likely report that he was granted leniency by the king for his help in Celliwig and has to perform community service, without specifying what that service is.

Darin does keep his ears to the ground for info. Not just official news sources but in taverns and whatnot.

Darin could always inbox him and ask him his reasons if you’d want to thread something like that out! He’d want to hear it from the horse’s mouth, so to speak and he has no qualms with being blunt or direct about it!

Sure, that works! I don't know how well Emet would take to being interrogated but :')
