Edelgard looks at Claude more favourably than she does the version of him from her world. It's much like her own situation; neither of them can be the best version of themselves without Byleth, and there's just not enough of her to go around.

She especially admires how tightly-knit the Golden Deer Avalon are here. They're akin to a squabbling, but loving family and it seems like Claude is the glue that holds them together. She admires that about him.
