are you alive you haven't sent a meme in a while

IC TESTIMONIAL MEME

HOW TO PLAY:

STEP ONE: Post a top-level for your character!
STEP TWO: Tag around and provide IC testimonials to other characters! Feel free to sign them as ~anonymous~ or not, in the case that your character doesn't want to own up to their Shakespearean description of "a grade-A dick" or "MILF MILF MILF".
STEP THREE: HAVE FUN!!!
BONUS: Bonus points if you can link to actual IC gossip that your characters have been doing about others -- we all know it's out there!

Now, get that gossip out!

A man who desperately wishes to be a hero, no matter the cost to himself...or others.

There is a reason tales of heroism are just that, tales. It gives the storytellers license to omit the more unpleasant or unpalatable details. I trust he has a better understanding of that now.

Lady, if you knew the first thing about me, you'd know I am literally the first person to say I would make the worst hero. There are so many others better suited for that title than someone as stupid and headstrong as me.

Just because I want to help as many people or living things as I feasibly can doesn't make me want to be a hero. It means I have a heart. And I'll take that over any promise of bullshit glory any day of the week.

At the end of the day, I'll never sacrifice my principles for something as fleeting and worthless as glory. So if that's gonna be a bee in your bonnet, deal with it. Otherwise, get outta my way.

And if you knew anything about me, you'd know better than to assume my actions were driven by something as trivial and pointless as the pursuit of glory. And I daresay if you'd stayed out of my way or followed my orders, Celliwig would still be standing, and people's lives would have been saved.

[Not the dragon's, but Edelgard woudn't have lost a second of sleep over doing what had to be done with the beast.]

Ah, your principles. Lovely. I'm sure that it's a great comfort to the Fae who still live that their friends and family may be dead, but at least your ideals are intact.

Heart and ideals are all well and good, but there comes a time when the greater good must be prioritized, and if you don't know that now, then you never will. I hope you can make your peace with that.

I never once said you were in it for the glory. Good to know your reading comprehension is as flawless as you’re reasoning.

Because if you want to put the entirety of Celliwig on my shoulders? Be my guest. Parade me through the streets in front of all of the refugees and proclaim to them that I am the one that let their homes be burned and their people die. I welcome it.

Because here’s the truth, your majesty. Celliwig is on all of our shoulders. But if shifting blame to someone below your standing helps you sleep at night, then by all means.

Leave it to the people strong enough to shoulder the responsibility. Keep pontificating or pony up and string me up. Because all you’re doing is proving my point. And when I’m cut down from the gallows, I’ll stand back up and keep doing what’s right.
