Why did you pick this familiar for your character?: Kazunari loves diving and being in the water so I wanted an aquatic creature! While Kelpies are usually seen as malevolent, a lot of sources I came across said they were also "seeking human companionship." And that in combination with how they can shape shift = oh, perfect for Kazu!
Special features: The whole shape shifting bit. Though, thus far she's only shifted into her human form.
How do they communicate?: Horse sounds I suppose. She can't speak as a human. Now that Kazunari has animal magic, he'll be able to understand her.
Personality: Quiet. Protective. She only likes a handful of people besides Kazu.
Relationship with your character: Kazu adooorreesss her and she is very attached to him too. He spends a good chunk of his money on cute dresses for her ha ha.
The FAQ says familiars have "shit to do" when not attending their bonded character. What does your familiar do in its off hours?: Water horse things? Being a menacing swamp monster.
Does, or would, your familiar get along with other familiars?: She gets along with Fuyu (Tsumugi's familiar)! It.. depends really.

Why did you pick these types for your character?: Kazunari is a whole ray of sunshine plus how fireworks are a constant for summer troupe. And Kazu is obviously very tech savvy/an SNS master but I've been associating him with animals way more lately. (blows a kiss to the sky for his bff misumi "canonly talks to animals" ikaruga meow meow)
How does your character cast their magic? He can cast it without being flashy but he chooses to be flashy.
How does your character feel about their magic?: He loves it! He's been having a lot of fun with it and it's been super helpful. He's really eager to learn how to use it in more productive ways too. Being able to understand animals is a blast, too.
How skilled is your character with their magic? Very baby. He still has a lot to learn.
Has your character learned any spells from Recipes, and do they use them?: Nope and nope.
Has your character brewed any potions, if able?: And nope.
Is there anything you would like to do with your character's magic that you haven't done yet?: I'm looking forward to him Losing It when he realizes he can understand Umi and Fuyu. Otherwise, idk. More magic art! More magic art!

What magic and familiar would your character choose for themselves?: Hmmm... maybe kinetic magic? And he'd go for a familiar that is a little more photo ready lmao
