Hey Maribelle! Do you want to find out what it feels like to be an absolute powerhouse of a man? Worse (no, really, much worse): that body swap could actually help Hijikata with the Roast Pork quest since it requires infiltrating the private club in a bunny suit...

This is going to be so awful; I'm cackling. That said Hijikata isn't exactly keen on being a bunny server, no matter whose body he's in, so I asked on the QuestBoard post if there's a way to just get the potion before the club segment and olly out! If that's not possible, though... well!

Another logistic struggle is that surely neither of them would test some sketchy stone from the dark web on their own volition, so I reckon it'll have to be some smart NPC who gives it to either of them as, IDK, an item that'll bring both persons luck in the new year if they follow the instructions, and then reports the result to the quest giver.

Still, since these are two separate quests, should I make a starter for Maribelle for the magical stone quest AKA the actual body swap and immediate drama? Or would you prefer to handwave that part and focus on the club quest (which he wouldn't inform her about or take her along on, but of course they'll just so happen to have a run-in)? Or do we just do both?

God, I can't stop being amused about this... imagine Maribelle in Hijikata's body walking around with her parasol and being accosted by some thugs or whatnot, or people asking her for help with monsters...

so if it's not too much trouble I'd happily take both - with the question being of how she finds out about the bunny suit. Because I imagine he wouldn't... exactly be keen on telling her... so, my best bet is that the moment the body swap ends is when he's finished with the quest, and Maribelle suddenly pops back into her body

Here we go!! I'll add the Roast Pork quest once the mods get back to me (and if they're too busy I'll just wing it!). And OMG getting body-swapped back at an inconvenient time would truly be so awful... let's do it!

I grabbed a bunch of Maribelle's icons, by the way; feel free to do the same with Hijikata's (to upload or embed) if you want to - but I'm good with just using my imagination too, so no worries either way!

I assume we're doing our threads in chronological order, but I got feedback for my questions and whipped up the second prompt (3D) based on it (I guess Hijikata could have avoided the bunny outfit, but we wanted to make this a critical hit after all)!

Let me know if you'd like me to change anything, and also what you'd like to happen in the scenario. The quest-giver may not know what Maribelle looks like since he and Hijikata never met in person before, but if he sees her freaking out about her situation he may assume that she's his woman and getting cold feet, and he might threaten her or demand the potion back or such... Hijikata will of course hurry to the club for damage control and can come to the rescue! Or else the quest-giver may stay hidden, but still identify Maribelle as the quest-taker (from spying on Hijikata collecting the potion the other day or whatnot) and send her creepy messages or something later on. There's no need for any of that, just in case you want his reckless-ass actions to have consequences for her!

I like the idea of the quest-giver seeing her freak out and making demands of her, more so that Maribelle can go off on him and get out plenty of her wrath... before turning on it on Hijikata when he arrives.

It'll be a (metaphorical) blood-bath.

This sounds perfect to me!! It'll be a bad mess, haha. Also apologies for my slowness; work has been exhausting this week and got me backlogged, but I'm tagging my way back out! 💪🏻 One question, though: what was Maribelle doing when she got swapped back into her body? Because I'm curious where Hijikata will find himself!

Well Maribelle isn't royalty, but she is going to be a drama queen about this - when Hijikata "wakes" up, he'll find himself at the inn... surrounded by tubs of ice cream and dessert because Maribelle has been binge-eating and wallowing in the despair of not only being a man, but being Hijikata. She pretty much locked herself away to moan and groan. He might also... smell a bit since she's been reluctant to shower and see his... man-bits. (Not saying she NEVER cleaned up, just... probably didn't scrub everywhere) Which includes no shaving.

So he's not going to look great. Or feel great.

I LOVE THIS... he deserves to have an upset stomach and feel grimy for putting her through this! For what it's worth, he did shower in her body (though he also mostly just stood under the water and only really washed his hair with his hands, ffff). Oh, but her pretty curls are basically gone (unless they're naturally like that); he wouldn't know how to style those! He also didn't bother with any make-up...

For what it's worth, though, he had got plenty of self-defence stuff on him when he headed to the club! If Maribelle's outfit has pockets or pouches he used those, otherwise he put everything on garters (via attached sheaths/pouches) - but those only apply if she was wearing a dress, so if she was in trousers you can substract the knifes from the list below! Maribelle will find herself armed with:

2 Short Knifes (1 western style, 1 eastern style) - only if it's a dress
Magic Mask (protection against fumes etc.)
Time Top (slows down everyone else's movements as long as it spins)
Counter-Curse Potion (to remove a hex or curse)
Deadpool Juice (makes the user heal from every injury for a day, but doesn't provide pain relief and makes them reckless, violent and... gassy?!)
Vocal Volume + Counterpotion (enhances the user's voice as if they were speaking through a megaphone)
From the Void (summons a disembodied tentacle that will follow whatever command)
Wayfinder (illuminates the path to the nearest establishment)

Feel free to use any of those as well or poorly as you see fit, haha. But if she'd rather not touch any of his weird stuff I understand that too!

also long as we're still "chatting" i wanted to get your thoughts on her eventual revenge because a swift kick in the nuts won't do it for her (I mean. She might still do it.) But I also don't want to overwhelm you cause work/life can be a lot!!! My first thought was that sometime in Feb Maribelle basically goes

"To anyone who can get me a photo of Hijikata in an embarrassing costume, I'll pay handsomely :)" but if that's too much for your schedule to handle the aftermath, I'm AOK with changing it to something else! Plenty of time to think it over!

I'm impressed and amazed at how much righteous vengefulness fits into such a little lady. Count me in!! While last week got me backlogged I'm currently on top of my inbox again, so bring it on whenever it suits you! 💪🏻 This is cracking me up because he gets really embarrassed - his castmates will wear mascot suits, cross-dress, whatever, all in confidence, but Hijikata has too much of a sense of shame (despite what Maribelle may think)!
