It's that time again already! It's time for our current players to plot for the month ahead, get some new CR and chat together about things to come. Go ahead and copy/paste the form below. Or don't. We aren't your parents, we can only make really good suggestions. (Unless...? Nah.)

Canon: Suikoden: The Life of Nash Latkje Told with Help from His Friends, Family, Fans, Arguers, Fellow Pranksters, Drunks, and a Few Respectable Souls
Info: a bloodthirsty, chaosmongering war devil whose primary motivations are, in no particular order:

1. Chaos
2. Chaos
3. Is this person useful in helping him spread chaos?
4. Raging against the ordering forces of the cosmos for sentencing him to an existence of pain and suffering.
5. Chaos

It isn't so much that he hates peace and quiet as it is that peace and quiet make him feel like he's going to die.

He tends to present himself as a cold, aloof and soft spoken man but it doesn't take much interaction to learn he has emotions. A lot of them, in fact. All of them even and as a being of chaos he experiences his emotions at 300% intensity. He's not at all likely to get sad and cry in front of you but he is likely to get sad, get confused over the fact that he's sad, get angry over the fact that he's confused and then stab you all in the span of 0.5 seconds. Yeah, he's one of those.

He's not evil, his lust for chaos is more of a primal need so he's like a wild animal. He is cruel, however. Extremely, unrelentingly cruel.
Magic & Familiar: Kinetic (Primary), Death Magic (Secondary), familiar is a bone dragon. A smaller version of the type of dracolich his old servant was.
Desired CR: Anything, really. Allies, enemies, people to form weird truces with... I've been having a hard time thinking of things to do with him in terms of larger plots or in game motivation.

For obvious reasons he's bound to be a force of negative CR for most people.

It is possible to get neutral to positive CR with him. He is actually very motivated to save Avalon and resolve this whole Excalibur problem since dead universes and/or universes with stopped time are not chaos friendly. He is willing to work with others towards this greater goal, especially if they are willing to put up with his tendency to kill people. He doesn't think of himself as evil, he thinks of himself as chaos, so people with complex, weird or non-human centric views of morality will get his respect more easily. Beings such as gods, spirits, demons, etc who lost a lot of power coming to Avalon will intrigue him since they might be going through some of the same things he is.

I know how completely strange this sounds, but I liked him as a kid (Suikoden 3 was my first!)... though I've forgotten a lot of his canon now! I feel like I should know, but how would he feel about sparring sometime? I don't know if he does that sort of thing (training?), but I wouldn't suspect it'd be tame at all, and would probably just be fighting... in general...

Yuber does sword training sometimes, usually around the area of Loch Manor. You are right that sparring can quickly lead full-on fighting though!

He's been quiet lately so it would be easy to rile him up to the point where he just...tries to cut limbs off for fun.

[That icon's amazing...] He'd be welcome to try! Shoto wouldn't like it much, but I wouldn't mind, and he really needs the experience, sword training! I remembered he's strong, at least!

He is an extremely skilled immortal swordsman.

The good news for Shoto is that Yuber's familiar doesn't like him picking fights constantly. If you need a deus ex machina to get out of the fight she can always swoop in and carry her stab-happy wizard back to his weird haunted demon nest.

"Extremely skilled" sounds good and bad for Shoto... but that sounds perfect, since Shoto would hate to forfeit, and it'd save him some pride. He'll approach him if he sees him around (or if you'd like me to write up something training related)!

I can probably get a top level up but you can write up something if you have anything in mind.

Yuber trains outside Loch Manor, sometimes against summoned skeletons. If Shoto ever goes exploring around that area Yuber is hard to miss.

Okay! I'm honestly clumsy with starters anyhow, so I wouldn't mind just tagging in, if you do top level. That setting sounds much better than anything I'd have in mind. I should say though, don't worry about Yuber's behavior with me (as far as being violent, I mean; he didn't bother me 20 years ago, so I doubt he would now), but I'd like to keep limbs on! I'm always fine with blood, etc.

As far as top levels would you prefer a log (I can put one up within the next couple days) or to wait and see what the world event is this month? When I do world events with Yuber I always do top levels.

That's alright (I'm so far behind I'm first, as they say, so I understand)! I guess a log would be better if it's sparring? But don't worry about the timing. Whenever you're able to is fine!

No need to apologize! It's really appreciated! Does Yuber use two swords here, too? That's all I'll need to know, I think.

He is using two swords! The Runeblade he takes out less frequently.

Yuber is motivated to help. Elza is quite the opposite unless hired to do so. I'd like to explore if there's any potential of either side of the CR development for them (negative/neutral) if he's sticking around for a while longer?

I am hoping to have this month to wrap up some things so even if he leaves he can probably talk to Elza about the end of the world at least! It would be interesting if they discussed the Calamity.

I'd be up for that! Did we want to do it in a regular setting like at his manor? Or somehow on a mission or whatnot? After she gave him the medicine, she wouldn't have gone out of her way to be noticed by Yuber. So I'm not sure if he would have left it at that or not as well.

The fact that she gave him medicine at all would put her on his "interesting" list. He wouldn't seek her out but if they bumped into each other he wouldn't immediately leave or do murders either.

If she ever came by the manor he'd talk but if that's not organic behavior for her they could bump into each other on a mission or in the city somewhere.

Oh! I just thought of an idea. I'm planning a closed log where she's up to get usual tricks. Basically she's going to be dropping off clues, notes, letters, markers (you name it, she'll do it) to test out the capabilities of a few potential informants and seedy residence for her information network.

She could always lure one potential target into Yuber's lair to treat both Yuber and the target on how they handle the situation.

Thoughts? She'd pop in after to either let the target escape or congratulate Yuber on ridding her off baggage.

Otherwise happy to do a quest for them to meet on as well.

This could work! Yuber will almost certainly kill the target without asking many questions though.
