Izumi is a laugh and a half to Rei, most of the time. She's nice enough, and funny too, in the way that one might like to gently annoy their pet to see them fuss. That and Kaika is always bustling so Rei is glad he got in on it early :) He does wonder how long he can go on giving Sakyo weird side jobs before she notices, though. lol

Of course, now that she knows more about him than he'd care for... Izumi's family trauma now hits a little too close to home. Rei is used to people having weird trauma that aligns with his (looks at otome), and it doesn't stop him from giving advice or judging them (however hypocritical it might be). Still... Izumi's is kind of a mirror, which makes it Fucking Awkward. He can live with that himself for as long as necessary, but with Ichiro now in the mix and constantly under threat of Avalon magic (or otherwise) making Ichiro admit their relationship, Rei's basically fully prepared to threaten her if she gets too bold about it :')

Essentially he likes her company enough that it would be a shame to drop her entirely, but he's made his choices long ago and doing so would be just One of Those Things he's given up in service to [whatever the fuck he's got going on that canon hasn't told us yet]. LMFAO

For all the times Rei has jokingly attempted to get her to join MLM schemes, he hasn't actually tried to take advantage of her yet??? Shockingly the most genuine relationship he has in that regard, but maybe that's because they're both pretty honest about what they are to each other and do all their advantage-taking up front. It also helps that in Avalon Rei is sort of off-duty, and she's not in a position of power or anything so there's no huge impetus for him to maneuver her to his benefit and he can just relate to her like a regular human. Would he user her if needed? Yeah... but they both kind of know that. Again, up-front.

Unlike with Izumi, Rei would like. Actually be genuinely bummed out if Kate dropped him over Ichiro stuff. :( (And then he'd be annoyed with himself for caring, etc etc bitter spiral) But Kate gives him the impression that she'd just call him a fuckin' shithead and move on, so he's not too worried about it.

Also now that she's met Sasara he's just like uugughh nooooo his reputation 😩😩😩 shes gonna call him cringeeeeee (hes always cringe but more cringe)
