JJ is a weird presence for her because he is SO much like what she could have been if her life hadn't gone completely to shit. So she's always a little bit jealous of his good fortune, aware of the similarities that exist to the girl she was when she was younger.

But then, because of that, it's also... nice to have him around. Someone who reminds her of simpler times and enjoys a good competition.
