if you've played this game, y'all know. if you haven't, to sum up, ovelia is a princess who is constantly used by almost everyone in her life and is a key player in the story of the game. also has depression. she'll be coming post her last scene in the game, adding an extra sprinkle of melancholy on top of it all. for god's sake please be her friend, she deserves nice things.

will be coming packaged with an Agrias, too!

little sister to Gawain, Agravain, and Mordred, niece to Artora. Gareth is the youngest of the Orkney siblings, and fits into the class of Lancer in canon. She idolized Lancelot (despite, well. y'all know). she's energetic, tenacious, and said to be "like a wolf" in all things she does. she's also deeply kind, adheres to chivalry, and is always willing to help out and make a friend. just don't challenge her to a joust.

I LOVE FFT and Ovelia too! She deserves all the happiness, so you should absolutely bring her to Avalon. All the better if she comes with Agrias!

when i was 13 and dumb as hell, i really liked him and his character arc.

and i still appreciate how well written he is, but as an adult with more awareness of the world and sociology and just general life experience, almost everything he does from chapter 2 onwards is infuriating, especially in the larger context of what his ultimate goal is (vs what he claims it is).

i appreciate that the game ultimately leaves you to make your own declusions about whether he was ultimately right, but damn, dude, you're just a Bad Take machine, aren't you?

at least he's not as bad as Argath.

I haven't actually beaten the game myself, but my husband is a huge FFT (and Ivalice in general) fan, so I know about 80% of the story. I totally get both the love and hate he gets, I find him interesting but also yes he is a Bad Take Machine.

DON'T GET ME STARTED ON ARGATH. I delighted in killing the FFXIV version of him every week back in the day. Every. Single. Time.

Okay but throwing Usagi Tsukino at Ovelia also sounds like a good idea even if I'm canonblind there too.

honestly usagi would make a great friend to Ovelia. anyone with the energy to lift people out of their own funks helps.
