Yona was raised as a very sheltered and naive Princess until a betrayal from one of the people closest to her left her orphaned, exiled, and fleeing for her life. Needless to say, she shed the 'sheltered and naive' aspect very quickly with the necessity of sheer survival. Her journey starts out in seeking guardians strong enough to keep her alive but along the way she learns far more about her lands, her people, and what her role should really be going forward. She travels around with a troll of a bodyguard and her ~~crush~~ closest friend since childhood, a very tsundere healer, and four warriors possessed by ancient dragons who are bound to the reincarnated god-soul she carries. Uh. Yeah, you read all that right. It's a prophecy thing, just roll with it.

Nearly 200 manga chapters later, she is fully growing into herself, her confidence, and her desire to see her people safe and happy - regardless of whether that involves taking back her crown or not. She's been a slave, a spy, a captive, a pirate, a rebel leader, and quite a few more and very little of the child princess she'd been remains, except for her strong heart and sense of justice. She wields a bow like an expert and has learned to wield her words as an even sharper weapon. Her observation and negotiation skills as well as a knack for understanding people and their motivations means she can navigate even the most dangerous of scenarios - although not without great risk to herself at times. She rarely lets fear stand in her way once she sees a way forward, however. She is driven, clever, loyal, honorable, and vastly protective of those dearest to her. Although the naive can still come back to bite her in the ass now and again - there are some things she's still obliviously clueless about.

Yona would also be coming in as a CRAU, most likely. She's spent the past year in Aefenglom (and would be coming in at age 18 at last, thank god) where she's had some experience with magic, being a witch. It would also help her skip a lot of the "dropped in a new and very strange world" confusion from the top again, which is mostly the big draw of CRAU for me, even if she's going to have to relearn magic from scratch. Again. Her canon point currently is very late in the manga (chapter 197), so apologies for any spoilers to anime fans?
