never have i ever.



Never Have I Ever, for those of you haven't heard of it, is a classic drinking game. Individuals take turns stating something they've never done, and everyone who has done it takes a drink. And then embarrassment and teasing and general fun is had by all.


HOW THIS WORKS
✔ Post with your character. This is your thread for as many 'Never have I ever' statements you'd like to make!
✔ Under your own thread, reply to yourself ICly with a statement of something your character has never done.
✔ Post as many 'nevers' as you like, but each 'never' should be it's own comment string, under your character's thread.
✔ Other characters reply to whichever 'nevers' they like, drinking or not drinking as appropriate.
✔ Optional rule: If you drink, you have to explain the situation in which the 'never' occurred!
✔ Another optional rule: Forced honestly is okay, if you have a character that wouldn't talk/share anything.
✔ Threadjacking is encouraged! Particularly if it's to make fun of someone for their answer/drinking.
✔ HAVE FUN PEOPLE

[There's a brief intake of breath at the tugging, but then he laughs.]

[ He scowls up at his taller friend before releasing them. ]

I don't know why I put up with you sometimes. You had better not be planning on getting drunk.

[ Hyth is 1000x worse when he's imbibed liquor. ]

Hmph. And I'm sure they will blow favourably for you when they do.

[ He holds his hand out and beckons. Come on, give him a glass. ]

[He fills one and holds it out. :3c intensifies.]

Do be careful, or I'll take that as a promise.

[ One last glower at Hyth and then he sculls the shot back with a toss of his head. The liquor burns on the way down, but in a pleasant way. A familiar way.

It's been a long time since he realised drink could not ease all his sorrows. Drinking with a friend though? That has a different taste. ]

[It certainly does have a different taste - the atmosphere of comfort and conviviality turn the burn of the alcohol into warmth rather than self-destructive fire. Hythlodaeus laughs to see Emet down the drink so quickly, though.]

Here I thought enjoying the bouquet is more your style.

This is cheap liquor designed to be quaffed as quickly as possible. Its only use is to get the drinker as drunk as they can be in a short period of timr, [ he says with a disdainful sniff. ] If you wish me to judge a bouquet, bring me a wine.

[Hythlodaeus just props his chin up on his hand, pointedly making eyes at Emet.]

I just might, you know.

[ Why are you so disgustingly sappy, 'Daeus? ]

I shall believe that when you do.

[ Expectant eyebrow raise. ]

[Uh oh they'll probably get kicked out for being SCHMOOPY. Well mostly it's Hyth, but you know.]

But is this fitting surroundings for a wine tasting? I would suggest we move somewhere more... elegant.

[HEY WHAT IF YOU GO, ON A DATE,]

If I didn't know better, I would say you were asking me out.

[ Smirking faintly, he sets the shot glass aside and holds out his hand. ]

Do you know better?

[There's an answering smirk that's not without a hint of genuine excitement as he takes Hades's hand, standing up.]

[ He follows suit with a huff of laughter. ]

I wonder. I can be quite the fool sometimes, as you often like to remind me.

[ There is nothing but fondness in his gaze as he leans against Hyth. ]

Then, for the purposes of clarity... I was intending to make this into a romantic evening. Fine wine, and just enough of it to make us a little more honest with ourselves, admiring the sunset and one another, until the stars come out, and then... I believe the saying is "the night is young"?

[Despite his (attempt at) smooth talk, Hythlodaeus can't help but feel giddy and even more enamored by the affection. He lets go of Hades's hand briefly to link their arms instead - what a fancy couple they make!]

[ He cannot help a faint dusting of pink on his cheeks as Hythlodaeus outlines his plans for the night. Honestly, it feels like a dream come true. ]

I like the sound of that, [ he murmurs. ] Gods know it has been a while since I last had company to drink and spend the night with.

[ And even longer since he has felt like he could truly open up to anyone. He is a man hidden behind so many layers of masks that he almost doesn't know his true self. ]

[Fortunately for Hades, he has someone who can remind him now. Hythlodaeus smiles, his own cheeks flushing slightly.]

I would offer to do that more often, but mayhap we should not make a habit of drinking too frequently.

Oh? How unlike you, 'Daeus, to be concerned for your health.

[ This draws a faint smirk from him, a glimmer of the man he's come to be instead of the one Hythlodaeus knows. Their humour coupled with Hades' caustic wit. ]

I see nothing wrong with a glass of wine every other night. Or if there is something else you would rather consume...

[ He trails off on a suggestive lilt. ]

Hythlodaeus grins in response - two can play at this game, as always, and he can't help being curious just how much of a challenge Hades can be now.]

I do enjoy good whisky, too. But 'tis not done to mix one's liquors, isn't it?

No, 'tis not. But something tells me that now the idea has entered your mind you will not be satisfied until you have tried it.

[ Since Hyth is too tall for him to idly kiss, he plays with the locks of hair within reach instead. ]

Fear not - I shall hold your hair back should you need to use the bucket.

[They're disgusting, who allowed this. Hyth chuckles at the answer - his usual good humour, for the most part, but there is also the affection and giddiness at these small gestures of love.]

How very kind! I would offer to do the same, but I fear you do not need it as much as myself.

Drinking oneself into a stupor seems more like your realm of expertise than mine. I was the only one with a sense of responsibility of us three, back then and now.

[ He knows not whether Hyth intends this to be a private date or a public one, but he will go wherever his friend leads. ]
