There is no headcanon involved with this character. Suikoden's story was super finished and explained everything and I'm not crying.

Okay but seriously he doesn't know. In Avalon he's been rage napping to pass time and has recently discovered baths are pretty nice.

Since he is unable to withdraw into the World of Emptiness here or bounce from one war to the next he's been sating his appetite for chaos by exploring and discovering new experiences and committing murders. As long as he isn't forced to be still for too long things aren't TOO bad...

But he hasn't found anything that fully satisfies his cravings yet.

Reasons for changing from knight to man dressed in black?

He would have stayed in his armor but Albert Silverberg almost certainly told him not to since the Destroyers were trying to not draw attention to themselves. I'm sure Yuber needed help finding clothes... Word of God says he most likely braids his own hair so he handled that part on his own, at least.

It seems like Yuber was part of Windy's crew for a fairly long time. What kind of working relationship did he have with her and Neclord? Did he like either of them or were they at best tolerated because they let him do what he does best (wanton slaughter?).

Honestly of all the people he's worked with I think Yuber respected Windy the most. He never really had kind things to say about the Silverbergs but he was confident in Windy's power right up until the Dragon Rune and Leknaat's Rune yeeted her monsters off the battlefield and left him alone with his army.

Now, obviously when the Empire fell he fucked off and wasn't around for the whole drama in the rooftop garden so he wasn't super loyal to her.... He also never really understood why she would sometimes try to threaten people without jumping straight to the nuclear option (so to speak, heh). But he DID work for her for over three hundred years and there's a chance she was the one who first brought him into the human world. I think he misses her. His time spent with her was, at least, fun.

His working relationship with Neclord was more casual. The old vampire was involved the political aspects of Windy's schemes and Yuber's never had the patience for that stuff. If he'd run into Neclord again he would have greeted him as an old work acquaintance, not a friend.
