1. Whether it's his personal self-care or keeping up his living space I tend to assume it's like . . . "good enough," lol. He is definitely the type who will go without a good shower for a bit if he's either camping/out in the wilderness or like, buried neck deep in some sort of project or study that keeps him up all night every night and he's not pulling himself away from that. But he's not in those situations here! And also I'm sure if he just didn't shower at all Anastasia would have gotten on his case real quick lol. I do also tend to assume that he uses magecraft to boost his ability to avoid self-care in the sense of sleep and food, but that he doesn't have any resources like that to do the same in terms of hygiene, because it just doesn't work that way, so he's forced to be more active in that area than he is in taking care of himself in some other ways. In terms of his living space he doesn't care about it much but also wouldn't want to be living in filth so he keeps it up fine, not immaculate but fine.
2. SEE IN AVALON THIS IS UNIQUE, because Kadoc in canon doesn't sleep anymore! He is capable of dreaming without sleeping and uses that and magecraft (presumably; the mechanic isn't explained in detail, lol) to keep his brain and body going without actually sleeping through the night. But my assumption is that his ability to do that depended on his magecraft, and so now that that's gone in Avalon, he can't do it anymore—but his body and mind aren't used to just keeping a sleep schedule at this point either. So he tends to fall asleep pretty quickly, but that's because he resents having to do it at all and only goes to bed when he's on the brink of passing out anyway. If he's going to bed when he's not about to drop, he is definitely the kind of person who can't just fall asleep and needs to agonize about himself and his life and everything he needs to do and has failed to do, etc, etc, etc . . . poor guy.
3. I think he would have to admit to himself, never aloud, that Anastasia was his ideal romantic partner, but that's pretty much because she was just his ideal partner overall. And I think that's the sort of thing he'd be attracted to in anyone else, too—I don't necessarily think he'd only be interested in someone like her, because there are multiple ways to be a good partner to someone! But what he is attracted to is just people who make good life partners to him overall in the sense of understanding him, accepting him without taking his shit, caring genuinely for him, respecting him, and having a personality that complements his. Kadoc really needs people who will drag him around by the ear kicking and screaming out of his comfort zone and into living life, lol. Anastasia was demanding, confident, critical, ambitious, and darkly humorous, and that was a good personality for him to work with, because she pushed him to be better than he was. I think any personality that did the same, even if it wasn't one like hers, would fit into being the kind of person he could develop feelings for slowly over time.
