It is messing with him something fierce. Darin's a brawler, and without his enhanced strength and ability to naturally heal, he feels completely vulnerable. Compound that with the fact that he's never been trained in magic because he didn't have mana in his world, he feels completely out of his breadth.

Right now, he's just trying to make the best of it. When he eventually learns how to augment his own physical strength with that school of magic, he'll feel a little bit better, but for now, he's coping with being a normal human when his entire life has been spent trying to measure and hide his power.
