Steven Quartz Universe || Steven Universe: Future

[The Caravan to Camelot]

After the unexpected splash and hike, Steven was glad to get some kind of a break and explanation. What he wasn’t as happy about was the idea that he had to save his universe again. Different threat, same end goal, huh?

If there was one thing he was glad about, it was that he wasn’t alone in this. Some part of him felt guilty, but the relief at not being alone almost overshadowed it.

While he waited for the caravan to depart, Steven approached one of the horses and was about to pet them. That was, until he noticed another person nearby. “Oh! Um…” Slowly, his hands retreated into his pockets. “Did you want to pet them first?” He offered a sheepish smile, though there was a hint of worry in his eyes.

[The Red Spring]

Whoever he ended up sharing the room with, Steven didn’t particularly mind. If they wanted, he’d didn’t mind talking or playing any of the games provided. Might as well get to know his new roommate, right?

But even his patience (and nerves) had limits, so he found his way to the salt cave. He took in a deep breath of the salt crystals, trying to force himself to relax even before he laid down in a recliner.

As he stared at the “stars”, he noticed they spelled out stressed. He grumbled a bit under his breath, half trying to shrink away from the exposing word. “I’m not, I’m fine. It’s fine. Everything’s fine.” In the back of his mind, however, he knew his therapist would be disappointed with him, if his friends and family weren’t.

[Training Grounds]

It was...weird. Steven didn’t have any of his powers-another factor he’s trying to contend with among everything else-but they had magic here, right? That was what Archimedes said, anyways. But how would they even use it? Did the magic here work like his powers-based off of his stupid strong emotions?

It was those questions that drove him to the training grounds. Some part of him was nervous, but he’d be lying if he said he wasn’t excited, either. Back home, he had to learn how to use his powers on his own, and while he wasn’t keen on having to learn all new powers, he hoped having an actual teacher would help the process.

After a bit, he managed to create a small light in his hands. He gasped, his eyes showing pure glee and wonder. Gems might’ve had hard light bodies, and Pearl could make holo-Pearls, but for some reason, this sparked such excitement in him, not unlike the first time he managed to summon his shield.

“I did it!” He showed off the small light in his hands to his fellow training partner. The pride and childlike wonder filled his gaze, his mind racing with thoughts. How could he use this power? What could he do? How far could he go?

Realizing the other person was probably not as interested as he was in his discovery, he closed his hands together, face quickly turning red as he looked at the ground. “Er, sorry. I uh…” He cleared his throat. “Did you figure out what you can do yet?”

[It Figures...]

After Steven’s had his fun with the games, he ends up looking at the figurines. There were alot that caught his eye. Too much, maybe. He wasn’t sure what to get first, if anything.

All seemed fine, until the flood came. He wasted no time getting himself and whoever was lucky enough to be near him to safety. “Everyone-” And there’s a blackout.

Great.

Steven wasted no time creating a small light. “What’s next, space pirates?” He asked under his breath. A part of him was certain he shouldn’t be tempting fate, but knowing his luck, he was half certain something else was going to happen.

[Wild Card!]
