Regardless of what you were in the middle of, you and your familiar have been magically pulled into the world of Avalon just above the Bay's waters. After a brief plunge into the Bay, the rush of water filling your ears and soaking up into every creak and crevice of your body, you may need to cough to clear your airways when you rise above the surface. It's still chilly, but not enough that you can't manage on your own. The Lady of the Lake is swimming around under the water, but seems to be focusing on coordinating a band of mossatees to help rescue any wayward new arrivals. Mossatees are a special Avalonian manatee that is green in color and has what appears to be a patches of grass or other short plant life growing on its back. While some are fully green, many sport blooming flowers or fairy circles of mushrooms. If anyone tries to ask the Lady of the Lake for directions, she will direct you to Archimedes at the Rent-a-Ride. Those with animal magic may get their info from the manatees, though may notice that they're really overly friendly and have zero concept of personal boundaries. Everyone may notice they have no concept of personal space, as they will happily run right into someone's belly for a snoot squishing. The shores themselves are littered with new arrivals complaining their way up a staircase carved into the walls of the White Cliffs. There is no railing, so be careful, but if you do fall, be prepared for a mysterious sand hand to reach out of the side of the cliffs to catch you. The hand will pat you atop the head twice before retreating back into the wall. This is the Cliff Beast; despite the name, he is quite friendly. *Reminder: Your character's familiar may or may not be with your character in their initial plunge. If the familiar isn't partial to water, it may meet your character on the beach or sit atop their head while they swim. Or if they are, they might splash about and swim alongside your character. Familiars have different personalities and body specs and we leave those up to the players. B ⦿ The Caravan to Camelot Once everyone is wrangled up to the top of the White Cliffs, the handsome owner of the Rent-a-Ride, Archimedes, will distribute smart phones, a pair of earbuds, and animal-themed ponchos and tell them to "Check the Shit Box." The "Shit Box" refers to wardrobe more formally known as the Wardrobe of Finding, a hammerspace-like wardrobe that opens to each person's items and pets when the person touches the handle. It was recently enchanted by Merlin to prevent people from having to fish their waterlogged possessions and pets out of the water with them. From there, Archimedes directs everyone to settle in groups into modernized carriages pulled by horses and gives them a basic explanation of why and how they've been brought to Avalon: The rest of the universe is frozen in time and your character has been brought here by a familiar that was able to bond with them. They'll have to learn magic to help save their own world from destruction, but first they've got to get them to Camelot. It is here that you have the first opportunity to decide who they will be in their new home. You'll have about an hour to wander around here, meet and greet, and pet the horses before it's time to go. These carriages use fae technology that combats weight, so your character will be able to get in regardless of whether they're light as a feather or weigh two tons. The carts have air conditioning when it's hot, heating when it's cold, and a mystical shield to protect from bugs. There is also a mini-bar that pops out of the console with nip bottles. Characters can use their smartphones to connect to Camelot's internet service, avalononline (AOL), to chat with other characters, watch dumb videos, learn about the world, contact Camelot Support (they'll answer any questions they can for you, from how to use a smart phone to where to find quests and resources to learn more about your magic). Be careful if you decide to use your phones while in the caravan-- if you don't use those earbuds and start forcing everyone to listen to your nonsense, Archimedes may make you walk. Which given the fact that it's pouring down rain in April? Not ideal. You were only given ponchos, not rain boots. C ⦿ The Red Spring The journey from the White Cliffs to the City of Camelot is a long one, and the first evening you arrive you'll end up spending at the Red Spring, a booming resort town. Because of the volume of new arrivals and vacationers, inn rooms are assigned two-to-a-room. The rooms have two twin beds, a bathroom, a mini-fridge and microwave, and a TV equipped with a couple of entertaining video games and a few free movies. Unfortunately, due to a bee infestation and massive amounts of rain, the hot springs of the Red Springs are not available this month! Instead, an underground salt cave is offered as a way to relax and unwind. Gather around in the rejuvenating, dimly lit caves and breathe in the relaxing effects of salt crystals. Feel the sand between your toes, or if you don't like sand, try one of the many pools with tiny garra rufa for a fish pedicure. Or, lie down in a recliner and stare up at the "stars"-- magic sparkles in the ceiling that move to spell out single-word concepts you may be experiencing. (Maybe you're relaxed? You might get something like "Chill." Find your relaxation buddy hot? Just be careful to look away before the stars spell "Thirsty" to the whole room.) The springs are also home to a large training grounds just outside town limits, where there are teachers who will teach basic magic safety and help you discover what kind of magic you have together with other new arrivals. Try target practice, obstacle courses, meditation circles, and other ways to try to figure out just what you can do... if you didn't already have an accidental discovery on the ride there. As it turns out, a mythical land that's been around for a few centuries has a few things in common with many modern worlds. It's got the internet, and games have evolved a little bit past hoop trundling and draughts. April, being the traditional month of mirth and games and lots of rain making it hard to have fun outdoors, is the time for Camelot City Gaming Convention, affectionately shortened to CameCon. Come into the large convention center located in the south part of town, get dry, and check out some of the awesome things to do. A ⦿ Couchless Co-Op Without the massive audiences required to really run MMORPGs, Avalon is much more a fan of couch co-op style gaming. Though most games are available on mobile devices throughout Avalon when they are released, there's nothing quite like coming to CameCon to utilize the gaming stages for everyone's favorite fighting games. Multiple players at a time can plug in their phones and connect their accounts to a light magic-based illusion stage (powered by multiple light mages at a time, once a year only!) roughly the size of a basketball court. Fighting games can be played tournament-style on the phone next to your opponent for some awesome trash talk during your battle. Race through space with this year's popular NASTAR Racing Game (National Association for Space Travel Auto Racing) game and fight off space pirates in an epic Mario Kart-esque racing and item battle adventure with your choice of star ship. Or plug your phone into the stage podium and get away from the humdrum fantasy life by joining in a live-movement game that combines synchronous kinetic and light magic. Move your body in the vortex illusion of your favorite rhythm dance game with a buddy! Or maybe you're more into the free-style gaming of Grand Theft Automation with both friends and strangers-- step onto the illusionary stage itself to explore crawling cityscapes and live the life of crime you always dreamed of... at least the cops won't really arrest you if you do it here. Just make sure if you use magic you remember you're on a stage and don't accidentally send some flying off at a poor convention go-er just past the illusion stage. B ⦿ Arthurian RP in your Arthurian RP None can forget one of the most important of game types: the roleplaying game. There's a huge historical set game going on right now where characters can LARP as their favorite Knight of the Round Table. There may be a couple of arguments if two Lancelots end up in the same game, but don't worry, there's a fair way of determining who gets the part for this game if you don't want to wait for the next storyline: rock-paper-scissors-magic. Instead of the traditional version of RPS, you shake your fists and open up to whatever hand-held spell you can make with your particular brand of magic. If it's something that can overcome the other kind in less than three seconds, you're the winner. (And yes, even healers can play-- some protective magic to block a dark magic pain curse is definitely going to win out, for example!) Either way, once your role is decided, put your acting skills to the test! ...and if you don't have any, well, they have costumes that will help you get into the mood with a little dress-up and props that will magically give you sword skills... though only while using the dull-edged plastic props. Or you can just sit on the sidelines and have a picnic on the concrete floor of the center with a potential new pal and watch other people play-- there's a lovely little buffet table with pastries, coffee, and juice in the corner. C ⦿ It Figures... A convention isn't a convention without a little shopping. Come check out what cool games are upcoming in the exhibit hall, buy figurines of your favorite game characters (or.. new ones you've never heard of since this is a new world, but are still cute and/or kick-ass), and most importantly, check out the cool magic you can apply to them. A spell available for purchase in the convention hall that's popular this year is Recipe: Figure Anima, which makes your figures move in place and say popular lines as if they're an actual, miniature version of the character. It's recommended you practice while you're in the convention hall though so figure experts can help if things go.. awry. People have been known to have their own emotions influence the spell, and sometimes toys have started taking on the attitude of the caster. There's nothing quite as tragic as your favorite angelic game character telling you they're gonna kick your ass because you were in a fighting mood. So OOC. Maybe you can find someone who's a little better at magic to fix the problem? Of course, when the rain breaks through and floods the exhibition room, there's a lot of mass hysteria as people scream and climb up onto tables, trying to protect their merch above all else. Hurry, help someone else up onto your table before their ent dakimakura they just purchased gets wet! Only you can save the gamers from water! ..Or that's what you thought, until a second later the electricity goes out and you're left in a total electricity blackout in the convention hall. It may be a good idea to use some magic to try to light the way and find a way out of the flooded hall... A ⦿ Keep Your Vines to Yourselves With magic blossoming left and right because of the bountiful spring equinox rituals, things have been getting a little stranger around the Broceliande. Though it's always been known for being a little odd, there is an overgrowth of prehensile, very friendly vines populating the forest now. The vines seem to have minds of their own, sometimes grabbing people, pulling them up into trees, or generally wrapping around them as if trying to get a warm hug. Ultimately, they seem relatively harmless.. except when you can't get down from them. Hopefully, you've got some kind of destructive magic that can help you fight off the overly friendly vines as you head into the forest to investigate the strange reports citizens have been making of their friends and family disappearing in the generally friendly, if odd forest when they've gone to fetch herbs or other supplies, gone on walks, or who knows what else from the forest. It seems like the best way to get the vines to let go without magic is to tickle the person the vines have captured, so you really better hope you're ticklish... and there's someone willing to really go in on it. It takes a lot of laughter to get these vines to leave you alone! B ⦿ Selfies with Selkies Those who continue on with their investigation after avoiding or escaping the vines will find a very, very large flower that seems to have taken route in a sink hole in the middle of the forest. Hundreds of vines seem to be coming from it, and it seems like this flower may be the source of all of the vines throughout the forest. It won't attack unless you attack it first and it seems to almost immediately regrow any vines that are destroyed. If the flower itself is attacked, it will rise up and attempt to eat your character with thousands of tiny shark-like teeth that lie where the pollen of its flower should be. Those who try to fight will find it seems virtually unkillable and immovable. It is neither plant nor animal and seems to have a thousand minds and souls held within it that somehow feel incomplete, so it's largely incommunicable even with cognitive or death magic. It's definitely a strange find, and it could be easy enough to assume the missing people tried aggression as their first tactic and got gobbled up... Take a trip up to the Archivist will lead them to find a book that includes information on the species: The Cereus de Anima. This giant flower rapidly grows when a seed from the Land of Rot transfers via someone's clothing to an appropriate forest environment and is known to absorb a piece of a person's essence from anyone it touches with its vines. People often seem to go missing for a short period of time when one of these appears, then come back behaving a little differently but ultimately don't seem to be in distress. No one is quite sure what the cause of this is. There doesn't seem to be any record of there being lasting damage, however questionable the plant is... The Archivist, upon seeing you researching the plant, says that he's heard some of the lake's residents just off of the Silent Shore have some experience with one. He hands you a couple baskets of some specially anti-rust enchanted parts and tells you he was supposed to deliver them to a Selkie man living in the lake for a project he's working on. You and a partner can make the delivery and ask your questions from him. The Selkie isn't going to be particularly friendly to fellow men, not trusting human men farther than he can throw them, but will decidedly try to seduce women as Selkie men are known to be extremely handsome and flirtatious with human women. Non-humans he will be neutral toward. It's best to go in pairs so you don't end up on a whirlwind candlelit beach picnic with a shirtless selkie in exchange for information about how to uproot a Cereus de Anima. (At the very least, the selkie will want you to take a selfie with him before you leave so that you have something to remember him by, and you'll always be welcome back if you change your mind.) Regardless of how much of a challenge it is for you to get to that point, as long as he gets the delivery from the Archivist, he'll eventually tell you and your traveling partner about how he heard that there used to be a village at the edge of the Dusklight Woods that was overrun with one of them, and that there's only one survivor who moved to in a cottage on the other side of the Pure of Heart Bridge.. Those familiar, yes, it is the old man that Morganna tried to kill and save in a quest a couple of months ago! Time to travel all the way back to the Pure of Heart bridge and make your way over to the cottage and talk to the man and it sure seems like this quest is long and tedious and you may be wondering if someone will have noticed you're gone... C ⦿ The Answer is No Back in Camelot City, it seems that anyone who's been touched by the vines has been replaced by a doppelganger in their lives. They're just barely off from the original- they have all the memories, but may be slightly more skilled at things they didn't used to be, or may seem to make less ethical choices than they might otherwise. There's just something slightly off. But when people start using AOL to contact their friends and let them know they've been gone.. well, it may seem like the jig is up, or at least in question. Those who find out they've been replaced may want to return to Camelot quickly to try to reclaim their lives. Doppelgangers will attempt to kill their original if they come into contact with them when they aren't around other people, so you may need to flee for your life if you haven't gotten good enough at magic to defend yourself yet. Around other people, the doppelgangers will do their best to try to prove themselves the real person and since they were made from the original, will have the same memories as the original character so asking questions that "only ___ would know" may not work. Eventually it will come out that the doppelgangers have occasionally wriggling vines instead of spines underneath their clothing, if you're willing to check that to see who's real, but that won't be common knowledge. What can be found out from the old man at the Pure of Heart bridge if you choose to leave your doppelganger alone is that Cereus de anima doppelgangers can only live for a month without killing their original and absorbing the rest of their essence. However, if the original plant isn't taken care of with a special venom you can only obtain from certain creatures in the Forest of the Fisher King, the problem will just keep happening over and over until the city is overrun and becomes nothing but a breeding ground for the flower and its replicas. MOD NOTES: • All test drive prompts are open to anyone in the game at any time to create your own logs with, but this post should have top-levels by potential new characters only. Current characters may reply to any threads, but should not top-level comment on this post. • If your application is accepted, you may accept TDM threads as game canon as long as both players consent. Characters may begin threading as soon as their journal is accepted to the communities. • You can have any animal-style poncho you want! They are themed, not made from actual animals. No animals have been harmed in the making of these ponchos!! • TIMELINE: The resolution to the third prompt will be in April's event! The first two prompt sets will be during the first week of the month. The doppelganger problem and obnoxious traveling and research will be occurring for the second and third weeks of the month. • People with green magic may be able to fill something off about the doppelgangers, but may not be able to identify what it is right away. Blood mages will be able to feel that their blood feels the same as the original as they are essentially copies. Cognitive people will be able to use their magic normally except for hypnotic suggestion- the doppelgangers are immune to it, so while you may be able to find other ways to out them, hypnotizing people to tell the truth won't work this time. Doppelgangers are made from the essence of the person, so they will be able to access their phones and accounts. Note that the Cereus de Anima and doppelgangers are not fairies and cannot be contracted with. If a Death Mage attempts to possess a doppelganger, it will technically come in contact with the doppelganger's vine and may end up with more than one doppelganger depending on how many times they try it. Siphon magic can be used to destroy a doppelganger easily, however, the essence that was stolen from the original's soul may be destroyed in the process so it is not recommended as the original may start to feel as though they are no longer a whole person. • If nothing here tickles your fancy, try one of this month's Quests for your TDM prompt. • The first "Arrival" prompts are present on every TDM, but contain seasonal tweaks for flavor. Arrival A

A resounding "What the fuck" can be heard around the lake as soon as Shinji has the air to voice it. Because seriously: what the fuck. Which of the goddamn Arcana thought this was a good way to wrap up everything?

...On second thought, Liminal Space is never this... coherent. Even the weird over-friendly manatees are on-theme, and there's not a second theme in sight. And, in sentences he literally never thought he'd have use for, his head is too quiet.

God, what now.

As he approaches the stairs, a moth-looking dude joins him, which gets a brief smile. "Oh, hey. Minako lurking around somewhere?"

Mothman chirps, clearly confused, and Shinji sighs. Of course she isn't.

Arrival B

It takes some digging, but he rustles up a white poncho that may or may not have dog ears. Koromaru didn't make the trip with him, for whatever reason, so he'll do what he can in the meantime.

For some reason, the explanation of what's brought everyone here makes Shinji bury his face in his hands and groan in frustration. (The reason... probably won't make sense to anyone, but he'll explain if they ask.)

Arrival C

At least whoever's stuck sharing a room with Shinji will eat well, even if they don't have much in the way of conversation. The first thing he does is dig into that mini-fridge, trying to figure out what he can do with its contents and only a microwave.

He does wander down and check out the salt cave after a while. Peaceful contemplation isn't really his thing, but he could use the space to think.

That lasts right up until he notices the ceiling mocking him, which it must be doing because it didn't say LONELY when he came in. "Oh, fuck off."

The ceiling shifts to BELLIGERENT. Shinji flips it off and looks away.

Vines C

Oh, what he wouldn't give for an axe right about now. But Shinji doesn't have that, just a Mothman who seems to think he can do magic (yeah right) and a very, very low bullshit tolerance.

Worst case, maybe Mothman could eat the doppelgangers or something. The first Mothman he knew sure had an appetite for flowers, anyway.

[I. Soaking in Your Arrival]

[Of all the things he'd been expecting, this wasn't it. A plunge into an unknown body of water, meeting a gorgeous Lady leading around some odd green creatures (though, they were super friendly, he gets it), and now, standing on the shores of this similarly unknown beach.]

[Eh, at least there were moogles here. Maybe he could try sending a letter?]

[Nonetheless - standing on the beach - he was taking a moment to wring out his clothes and whip water off his hair and tail. If he accidentally got anyone else in the process, he doesn't mean to; it's not like someone left them towels, and he's not hiking up a cliff in wet clothes. Soaking boots were bad enough...]


[II. The Caravan to Camelot]

[Zidane had... no idea what he's been handed. A small rectangular box? What was this little boad? What the hell are earbuds? He doesn't even question the poncho and just put it on, ignoring how it made him look like a monkey - er, more like one.]

[After listening to Archimedes explanation, he would move to the side, still trying to figure out the weird rectangle with letters and numbers on it, looking completely confused. His moog- familiar seemed to get it, but things were happening on it that he didn't get at all. A quick glance around, he'll approach the nearest person.]

Hey, do you think you could help me out?

[Later, should he find himself sharing a seat with someone unfamiliar, they might find themselves the unfortunate subject to the curious teen poking the console, turning on the heat or AC, then turning them off... and then making the mini-bar appear and disappear.]


[III. The Red Springs]

[Zidane doesn't immediately mean to be a nuisance, but the mini-fridge? The microwave? The TV? Oh yeah, he'd be messing with them for a while. At least he's not as curious about the bathroom, but he would totally understand being thrown out.]

[Buuuut, once he's done messing around with the room, he decided to have a look around. Hot springs might be closed, but the salt cave? Alright, he'll have a look around!]

[Sure enough, plenty to do to relax, but he'll eventually wander his way out and over to the Training Grounds. He knows magic, but he didn't know if the magic here would be the same. He might as well try figuring it out, and figuring his own powers. But who wouldn't mind showing him the ropes?]


[IV. QuestBoard - Salacious Sailors]

[Did he mean to take this Quest? Not really. In fact, how he reached the Dark Web at all might as well be anyone's guess. Well, maybe he happened to overhear some people talking about it and wanted to have a look. Still, taking the Quest was an accident.]

[But dressing up as a sailor? Sneaking into a party? Maybe kidnapping a pirate captain and stealing his ships? Honestly, sounded like fun to him~ He didn't like the idea of taking the captain's life, but what about bringing him in and taking the ships?]

[Hehe, sounded better to him.]

[In the middle of the rager, Zidane's going to see about keeping the drinks coming and making this party a knock out. He might be a little dumb when it comes to technology, but he could rig a ship and prepare it to sail no problem. Though, glancing around, he couldn't be the only one doing this task...]

[Zidane wasn't the only one who stumbled upon this. And even without Penelo, he was going to go all out if he could! The bounty on his head back home was high for a reason, after all. Thanks Balthier-senpai Of course, he needed to see this party so he could work out a plan. It was easy enough to recon the area, the captain, and the ships.

It was just a matter of actually getting anything in motion to happen. Of course, it wasn't hard to hone in on Zidane and realize that this was likely a fellow thief. His movements, and the fact that he looked like none of the other sailors (was that a monkey tail?) in this place. He had long since learned to trust his gut, so once he was able to lock eyes with the other, he tilted his head to the side and put a finger to his lips. Speak in private?]

Aang | Avatar the Last Airbender

Arrival A

The sensation of falling isn't what surprises him. It's that he can't airbend his way out of the fall. The water is a shocking cold, but then there is a blur of sensation including...sea cows? Or something he's never quite seen before.

Some time later, he's sitting on the beach, trying to puzzle it all out. He's tried everything, straining his way through one stance and another. Nothing. Not even a whuff of air. His bending abilities are gone - he can't sense any of the things that make him the Avatar.

For the first ten minutes, sitting there with the only sound being the lapping of water at his feet, this troubles him deeply. Then another thought occurs to him, the answer to the question: 'who is the Avatar without the abilities of the Avatar?'

And the answer is, of course, 'Aang.' Which is when he's suddenly on his feet, whooping in delight and doing a backflip before diving into the water and just swimming around with a laugh. Oh, there's a mystery to be solved here, surely. With his luck, too, probably some evil that needs defeating. But, for these few minutes, he can just be Aang again. No great destiny, no fates to balance - he can jut be a sixteen year old kid, at the beach.

He's seldom felt so free. Dancing with Katara, perhaps, but - seldom this free.

Arrival - The Caravan to Camelot

This place has certainly been an education. The...weird portal thing had been bad enough. Opening that up and receiving a faceful of his clothes had been fine. Then a whole Appa flying through at speed directly behind it had been...more abrupt.

But then Appa had shrunk. One minute he was his full, usual size, then his whole body had given a sneeze and...shrunk down to about the size of a golden retriever. His head was currently on Aang's lap as he hung his legs off the back of the cart. As far as Appa looked like anything, he looked non-plussed. He wasn't big enough to intimidate anymore, but the amount of cooing and petting he was getting was some compensation

Meanwhile, Aang was trying to figure out the...thing he'd been given. The 'smart phone', though his attempts to engage it in conversation had so far been fruitless.

He tried shaking it, frowning at it.

Caravan to Camelot

Aang's travelling companion was a young woman of about seventeen years of age, though you would be forgiven for thinking she was a young man instead. At her side sat a red, dog-like creature that was small enough to fit in the palm of one's hand; a sharp contrast to Appa, even downsized, to say the least. After sitting in silence for a moment, Akira decided to say something, putting on a steady, reassuring smile.

"Uhm," she said, "would you like some help with that?"

Referring to his smart phone, obviously.

Matsunaga Hisahide | Samurai warriors

Arrival

[Prior to his arrival, Matsunaga had been stumbling about the remains of a burning temple completely overtaken by the euphoria of having murdered a handful of people he really, really hated. This post-murder euphoria had lead him to stumble through the burning building with explosives in hand; while that went about as well as could be expected, the feeling of being dropped into the water on arrival is the furthest possible sensation he expected considering his previous circumstances, which makes the sudden dip in the bay extra jarring.

He chokes out water, he flails his arms trying to right himself and, perhaps worst of all, he's assaulted (read: harmlessly played with, which he isn't receptive to in the least) by a bunch of strange creatures. [Now a bit more informed and a bit less disoriented, Matsunaga sits awaiting the departure of the caravan to lead them to Camelot. However, he finds the whole situation...is really far more amusing than he could have dreamed it being upon arrival. If you're unfortunate enough to be sat opposite him, you'll witness Matsunaga lean forward a bit to cover his face with his hand...then he breaks out into a laugh on the other side of the carriage, throwing his head back dramatically.]

How absurd! Asking Avalon's greatest villain [Already decided on his new title, this guy.] to help save the world? Worlds?! Kyahahaha! It's far from cliche, I'll give them that!

[Here, Matsunaga comes across a fellow arrival ensnared by the vines populating the forest. Whether his attention is intentionally called for or not, he looks up at the forest's prisoner with a smile, some fake pity, and then a dramatic turn and gesture.]

How terrible! To think that such a fate would befall you, so soon after your arrival...but worry not! [He turns back to the prisoner in question, holding his hand up to eye level as a flame ignites in his palm.] I'll get you down.

Arrival

[ Bean doesn't know how to swim. He's never had opportunity to learn, having gone straight from living on the streets of Rotterdam, to Battle School in orbit around Earth, to the asteroid Eros. They don't have room for swimming pools at military installations in space. Theoretically, he understands the principles of how swimming works. The body needs to remain afloat, with the head above the surface, so as not to inhale water instead of air and die. Bean is very good at not dying, but some circumstances are beyond even him.

And so, there is a small child, thrashing and flailing in the otherwise calm bay waters, gasping for air in fits and spurts. Maybe you can play lifeguard and help him get to shore. If you'd rather just stand there and watch him drown, well-- too bad. The mossatees will step in if no one else does, allowing him to grab a hold of the moss on their backs as they tow him to shore.

Either way, he ends up on the beach, coughing up water and panting, trying to catch his breath. It's clear he's in the throes of panic, but he recovers quickly, balling his tiny hands into fists and closing his eyes, drawing in slow breaths as he counts to ten. Soon enough he's back in control over his body, enough at least to look around and decide... he has no idea where he is or how he got here. ]

We've been told that the rest of the universe is frozen in time. I believe that even less than I believe all this talk about "magic." It's like no one here has ever heard of Arthur C Clarke. The only thing I do believe is that the people who claim to be in charge are keeping something from us. Most notably, whatever "sufficiently advanced" tech they have that would have been able to pull us all here instantaneously. Until a few days ago, I didn't think anything could travel faster than light. I will accept that I've been proven wrong on that front. The evidence (me being here, nowhere near where I was when I woke up this morning) is indisputable.

So. Tell me. What should I know? I don't like going into a mission blind, and these "Avalonians" have turned off my viewscreen.

Bean has never been to a gaming convention. Nor has he had any desire to. The whole concept of video games is only something he was introduced to in the past year or two, and even then only in the context of a teaching tool, or a method of psychoanalysis. He doesn't trust anyone who gives kids a game to play and claims it's 'just for fun.' But, after watching the flashy gameplay of the fighting and RPG games, watching the players closely, as well as the staff working the display, he can find no logical ulterior motive. Maybe it is 'just for fun' after all.

That, and only that, is the reason why he decides to give the space piloting game a try. Commanding ships via a computer screen is literally what Bean is trained for, and he's the best at it. (He's the best at a lot of things, grant you, but he's especially the best at space ship maneuvering and tactics.) Some people might be mad that a measly kid who looks like he can't be more than four (even though he is) is defeating all comers, but Bean takes every win in stride. He doesn't gloat, he doesn't show off. He wins a match, then waits patiently for the next taker.

"Do you want a go? I promise I won't go easy on you."

Bean... That's not a very reassuring promise.

CameCon pt. II

[ When the convention hall begins to flood, Bean is among the first to climb on a table. He's only three and a half feet tall, after all. He's already had one near-drowning so far, he doesn't want to have another, with the added chance of being trampled under a panicking mob. He's mildly upset when the lights go out, as he had been scanning the scene, trying to find the most direct path to the exits so he could beat a quick retreat. Thankfully, he has light magic, or so he's been told. He has yet to actually try to use it.

He holds up a hand, concentrating on visualizing what he wants, and-- There it goes! A small ball of light appears above his outstretched fingertips. Now that he knows what it feels like, he calls on that line of thinking again, letting the light grow bigger and brighter, sending it out over the crowd to light the way. Realizing that the vast majority of con-goers are still panicking and splashing about in the dark, he figures he would have a better chance of making it out of here unharmed if he teams up with someone bigger. (And let's face it, pretty much everyone here is bigger than Bean.)

He turns to whoever is standing nearby, offering: ] I'll light the way if you make sure I don't get run over by the stampeding masses.

[Vaan patted the fiery horse in amazement. Not only was it way smaller than the one he fought in the Garamsythe Waterway, but it was also cool to the touch? And nicer? It whinnied in contentment, feelers pressing warmly against Vaan's bare arm. This was insane. But he couldn't deny it felt good given the chilly air and his lack of a proper shirt. Although would it have mattered given he was completely waterlogged? He had his wet shirt over other arm to testify this. He had rung it out but there was really no point in putting it back on.]

C'mon, let's go see where everyone else is going and get some answers.

[It snorted with a nod and followed along as Vaan made his way to where it seemed people were headed up. Although he did notice a few people seemed to be having trouble with those plant water creatures? He hurried over to someone and tried to shove the thing off of them.]

[It was a different kind of magick, but magick nonetheless. It was all the elements too, some black magicks it seemed like. His fireman watched in satisfaction as the dummy lit up on fire, because of course it was happy about that. Vaan guessed that he was casting maybe the basic level stuff like Fire, Water, etc.

Vaan concentrated and soon had a bubble of water splashing over the dummy, putting out the fire for the most part. He cast it once more and it was out completely.]

Doesn't seem too different, huh? Wonder how long it'll take me to master 'em all again.

[It has long been Balthier's way to make an entrance; even when they had first met, he had spoken to Vaan before fully revealing himself, though by comparison this particular meeting is hardly so dramatic. Should Vaan turn towards his voice, he'll spot Balthier leaning comfortably against one of the posts marking the entrance to the training grounds, his arms folded in front of himself as they so often were.

Truth be told, it's blind luck that has brought them here on the same day— Balthier has little reason to visit the Red Spring at present, but his curiosity has often gotten the better of him, and word of both the salt cave and the whisper of new arrivals had reached him all the way in Camelot. Going by appearances, however, he's been watching Vaan for at least a few minutes.]

[The convention aspects wasn't exactly unfamiliar to Ochako - there's plenty of conventions back in Musutafu and all over Japan proper, for comics/manga and anime, video games, and especially hero conventions. One for a fantasy aspect is little funny to Ochako, but then again...not everyone has and can wield various types, or are able to use a sword and shield, or a bow and arrow and stuff. She's not about to be judgmental, because these sorts of events are a ton of fun!

The LARPing gets her attention real fast, and though Ochako doesn't have a costume for herself, that's not an issue at all. Practically magicked (literally) into a frilly outfit and given a fake magical staff that lit up and sparkled with a shwing! sounds when waved around, she steps up onto the stage and is ready to perform and have a good time.

That is, until--]

Eeeh?! To-Tokoyami-kun?! [She blinks, and then stares out into the crowd as the silence becomes a bit heavy. Heck.]

[Saving the world is all well and good, Childe supposes, because, hey - his family lives in Teyvat. If he can keep his family safe by learning this new magic, that's what he'll do. Or that's at least what he says to the trainer looking him over to see what kind of magic he's been granted - it's not entirely untruthful. Childe would do anything and everything to keep his family safe, but he can't deny that there's a part of him that thrills at the thought of learning something new. Some new way to fight, something that's not possible to learn back in Teyvat. Something different.

Everything he does is to improve himself, so after getting a quick explanation of alchemy (which he assumes differs from the alchemy back home, somehow) and blood magic (which explains the odd new feeling tugging at his senses), he's set off to go practice with a few words of warning to be careful.

He has his bow on him, so that's where he starts. Breaking it down into twin daggers is familiar, even if the process is not and it takes him a few tries to get the right sigil. Once the blades are in hand, he immediately slices across his arm, deep enough for blood to pour from the wound. Nothing in moderation with him, it seems, but it's good practice to draw the blood forward, wrapping around the blades he still holds.

It's, uh.

It's not a great cut.

It doesn't seem to bother him, though, as he tosses the daggers (always gotta do things with flair!) and points one of them at another trainee nearby.]

[Childe can play a role - he's not unfamiliar with acting, even though this is quite different from, say. Taking over an opera and standing on center stage. He also doesn't know much about Arthurian legends, considering that's just... Not a thing in Teyvat. He grew up on stories of brave heroes and legends and he can think of tales that sound familiar, but...

Who the fuck are these guys? Why should he be one of them?

He leans his weight on one of the prop swords, a lazy smile on his face.]

This is a predicament.

He's not exactly expecting for vines to grab at him while he's in the forest, and why would he? This world doesn't work on the same rules as Teyvat, how's he supposed to be expecting the dendro threat? This wouldn't be such an issue, though, if it wasn't the fact that his familiar is back at the inn so he can't quick cast any sigils, and his only weapon is the bow that's now on the floor of the forest. Salvation seems to be in sight, at least, as he grins and raises his one free hand in a wave.]

[That was fun! Fighting someone that has the same memories as him - it was a challenge, even if in the end the vine's recreation of Childe couldn't beat the real thing. He's almost disappointed, but he supposes it was a cheap fake.

He seems unbothered by the fact he's covered in something that must be blood or something close, and lets out a bright laugh.]

I haven't had a fight like that in a while!

[He shoulders his bow, while the blood arrows sticking out of the doppelganger lose their solid shape. He's covered in cuts and bruises are already blooming across his pale skin, but he seems to be in an incredibly good mood.]

So, what do you think? Was it a close fight?

[He's well aware there's an audience, considering they fought in the streets of Camelot. There's a nearly manic look in his eyes as he looks at the passerbys who had to deal with their fighting, and there's blood dripping down his face from a cut on his forehead. All in all, he looks... A mess.]

[ Zhongli is used to seeing varying degrees of commotion within the city, but he feels something amiss, a degree of tension in the air, evidenced by the way his familiar seelie hovers high in the air as if to peek over the nearby crowd only to suddenly disappear. Strange...

He steps toward the group, tall enough to manage to get a brief view over crowded shoulders at that appears to be two individuals in the center, the cause of the commotion. There is a body on the ground.

That's when he realizes what he sees, what he smells in the air, keenly familiar. Blood. A voice, cheerful and wild, echoes across the mass of scattered individuals and it's not difficult for him to figure out who it is, what they've done. But it's the fact that when he slips past the gathering into the clearing only to see the body, bloody and littered in arrows appears just like Childe, that Zhongli doesn't know how to explain what has happened. There are two Childes, and one is dead. ]

Begone.

[ His voice booms firm with authority as a polearm drives into the earth below, cutting the silence through the crowd, there's a ripple of movement and then individuals begin to flee. Things are tense enough already with some dead boy in the middle of the street. It'd be better not to stick around at this point. ]

[Machias shouldered his shotgun. If they were going to be slimes in here, then he was going to likely need it. The only problem was that apparently Orbal rounds didn't exist here, neither did Septium that was used to make the bullets needed for his shotgun. He was going to have to be careful in how much was used. And likely look into another weapon for the time being. But he didn't exactly have a chance to right now. So, he was going to have to make do and hope they didn't encounter too many.

He checked the pouch at his thigh, content at the amount he had so far. There was more in his bag back at the inn from when they'd scrambled to escape Trista, but that was all he had in ammunition. He adjusted his glasses with a sigh and cleared his throat. He looked his quest partner in this.]

[He struggled with the "from x" part a great deal, to be honest. Sure, he wanted to unite all the warring factions, but wasn't it a bit much to claim success prematurely? But by the same token, he refused to narrow it down the more obvious "Oda lands, and forced lord over all the allies and those forced to submit," and narrowing it down even further to Owari was outdated for him, and Azuchi Castle was just bizarre. So a vague sort of all-encompassing "Japan," it is. Besides, it's never been said he was without too much arrogant ego.]

[What a rude awakening! One minute he was at Scepter4 headquarters, finishing up the last details of their disbandment, then suddenly he finds himself plunged into the water. Not cool. The chill of the water and desperation to get air into his lungs has Fushimi scrambling to reach the surface. Once he gets his head above water, he starts coughing violently, his body pushing the trapped fluids out of his lungs. Luckily, Fushimi knows how to swim, so he can stay afloat in these uncharted waters. His blue eyes try to absorb his surroundings, but nothing seems familiar. Where the hell is he?]

...Come on.

[Fushimi sighs to himself, his tone irritated as he swims to the shore. This couldn't end well. He was just wrapping up one chapter of his life, and now this looks like the beginning of another tedious entanglement. Despite his negative thoughts, his eyes show a youthful interest that his annoyed face can't seem to convey. He finally gets to the shore, trying his best to wring out the water from his clothes, but it's too soaked. He clicks his tongue at every wet sound his shoes make, there's nothing more uncomfortable than wet socks!]

Couldn't I have been kidnapped properly? They better not be audacious enough to ask for help after dunking us in water. What is this? A practical joke?

[He's speaking to no one in particular, just complaining underneath his breath. Still, he's not looking forward to seeing how this situation pans out.]

Red Spring Inn

[ Fushimi's not keen on having a roommate, because of reasons! So he decides to find a space he can be alone. The salt caves seem like a good place to hideout after midnight. He has no desire to stick his feet in the sand because sand has the tendency to get everywhere and he doesn't want to deal with that. Or He doesn't want to partake in skin flake-eating fishes either. Fushimi shudders, thinking of all the feet that have been in that foot bath. Instead, he lounges in a reclining chair, looking over the details of his device and seeing how he could customize it to his preferences. His blue eyes look up to the stars, and words start to form, 'RELAX'. His eyebrows furrow wondering if those words are intended for him.]

Game (K)nights

[Even Fushimi can't resist CameCon, even if the name needs work. He likes a challenge and competing against other people anonymously. So he logs into the fighting game stages with his mobile device. He's fine with people not knowing his identity, but if there's an opponent who's really kicking his butt, his deadpan face might look a bit animated.]

Oh no, you don't!

[He hisses as every move his fighter tries to initiate ends up being blocked. Isn't excessive blocking a cheap move?! Finally, his character's special move gauge is full. Get ready for retaliation!]

Let's see how you block this!

[Fushimi activates the special move, and he expects one thing, but it becomes something else. Can your character survive a 100 hit combo? Sounds like there's some glitch in the system, or maybe someone's manipulating the mechanics of the game unconsciously.]

Eivor spends most of the carriage ride peering out the window, squinting at the landscape. Is this not England? Those were definitely the White Cliffs she was standing under when she pulled herself out of the water, and the landscape...it all looks very familiar to her. She glances upwards out the window, where a raven is circling the carriage as it trundles down the road.

"If those were the White Cliffs, then we must be in Wessex." She mutters. "Ravensthorpe will be further north, then." She has to see for herself if her clan's settlement is here in some form, as soon as she's able.

She turns away from the window, only for something else to catch her eye...the mini-bar. "Ah finally, something to make this journey more pleasant." She tosses you a mini-bottle of...something. Is it alchoholic? Quite possibly. "Come, have a drink. It seems there's not much else we can do right now."

Selkie Delivery

If she can haul cargo overland for Yanli, there's no reason she can't do so here. Eivor has no trouble with her basket as they make their way to the Shining Shore to get the information they need from this Selkie fellow. However strong the vikingr is however, her companion may not have as much stamina.

It's another fine day in New Camelot when you suddenly find yourself accosted by a large Nordic woman with a hood pulled up, who suddenly grabs you by an arm and pulls you urgently towards a nearby bench. A closer inspection reveals that there's a rather nasty cut on on her arm, and on her face.

"Here, sit. No time to explain, just act natural. Damn thing's going to be coming this way anytime soon." She more pushes you down onto the bench before taking a seat next to you and lowering her head. "Be quiet and don't react when you see it." She hisses under her breath at you.

That's not a name that Claire has heard outside of History 201. She's familiar with it, and with English geography, but not a lot of people seem to be, really.

Moving up into the caravan, happy to ride instead of biking herself back after helping the new arrivals, she catches the bottle and looks at it. Yeah, okay. A lighter brandy, that's fine.

"I'm afraid you might be off base. Yeah those were the White Cliffs, but this is Avalon, not England."

[A - Soaking in Your Arrival]

Hibiki is very well accustomed to being flung into crazy situations at the drop of a hat. It's kind of second nature, by this point. Usually though, she has at least some moderate warning. Instead of suddenly dropping out of the sky towards a lake, really rapidly, without enough time to transform or really figure out how to blunt the coming impact.

(Not that she CAN transform, but it's not like she knows that, yet.)

As such, she smashes into the water with only being able to land in such a way that she did not get the wind knocked out of her, so she could thus then make her way to shore. Hibiki is quite an athletic young woman, and that much isn't a hard task, even if her head is ringing from the landing. She notices the creatures in the water but tries not to pay them mind. Hauling herself up onto the shore, she's coughing up water, shaking it out of her hair, when she's confronted with...

A Noise. A monster from her world that, normally, carbonizes a person at the touch. The only people who CAN touch them are Symphogear wielders, once transformed. As such, she instinctively reaches for a familiar red crystal that always hangs around her neck, and... finds it not there.

"Oh, nuts."

Suddenly, the Noise lunges at her! She gives a shout, slipping on the wet shore and unable to dodge, her life flashing before her eyes--

And finds the grape Noise just. Hugging her and hanging off her arm.

She blinks, EXTREMELY confused.

"Um." She shakes her arm, trying to get the Noise to detach itself, looking around absently. "Anyone... wanna tell me why I'm not dead?!"

[B - The Red Spring]

Hibiki COULD be relaxing and cooling her heels. Sure. That would be the logical thing after getting flung off into another reality and getting your head together.

But, Hibiki's at least partly used to that sort of thing. Not being able to access her Symphogear? THAT, though. That's a problem.

So, she's at the training grounds, but even after trying to pull up information on what her magic supposedly is, she's having something of a time figuring out how to focus it.

She looks at the little grape Noise nipping at her heels, who just makes a sound that comes out as some unintelligible gibberish. Sighing, she swings around and just shouts out at the training grounds.

"ANYONE WANT TO TRY AND HIT ME WITH THEIR MAGIC?!"

That'll work.

Just attack the girl screaming at the top of her lungs.

This will end well.

I. THE CARAVAN WALK TO CAMELOT

[ In Geralt's defense, he doesn't know how any of this shit works. He's been given two little round balls attached to what looks like a noose, a flat device that makes noise constantly—look, his leg fucking hurts, he has a headache, he's not entirely sure he isn't still hallucinating.

Besides. He doesn't trust being in a strange carriage, anyway. So when he's threatened with getting kicked off the ride, Geralt takes that as his cue and decides to hop off on his own. He's walked longer roads through worse storms. At least there is a road to walk on.

You can find him making his way on foot to the city, a minor but noticeable limp in his step. He looks worse for wear, even for someone who might've been recently dumped into a lake. His swords are slung only somewhat discreetly, tucked in a bag over his shoulder. Everything feels dull: the smells, the sounds, and it makes him tense. The infection, maybe. A lingering after-effect.

Or maybe you find him stopped on the side of the path, where he's mostly tried to stay out of the way of too many folks, cutting strips from his wolf-styled poncho (because of course; what else would it be?) with a small knife. Watch him long enough, and it becomes apparent he's using it as a makeshift bandage to replace the dirty, bloodied one currently around his leg—but otherwise, it does look a little like he's just taking the damn thing to pieces. ]

II. THE RED SPRING

[ Eventually, the city looms ahead. It's nothing like he's ever seen before: lush with bizarre architecture, equipment he doesn't recognize. It's not that things haven't been explained to him; it's that it offers little by way of anything he can really use.

Typical. The caves are the most familiar-looking place here. Or it's quiet, anyway. He's sore. He feels like shit. There are pressing matters, but he knows nothing's getting done if he's wandering about like he's about to keel over. There're too many things on his mind: questions, worries, things he knows won't resolve for some time. He just needs a moment, alone, away from the world.

If there's anyone else in here, Geralt ignores them while he finds his corner. He's either deep in meditation or asleep, it's hard to say—but if any wandering or curious hands creep towards the bag at his side, one golden eye will crack open immediately. ]

Don't touch that.

Eivor likewise decided to eject herself from the carriage after she began to find the ride unbearably dull. It doesn't take her long to catch up with Geralt. Unlike him, she's made no real effort to hide her weapons; a pair of bearded hand axes hang off her belt, and she balances her long-handled Dane axe over her shoulder. Her round reinforced wooden shield is strapped across her back. She watches him limp for a moment before.

"You look halfway to Helheim already, friend. Perhaps you should rest a moment before you collapse."

⊗ arrival a: uncertain beginnings

[When Eustace first found himself falling and plunging into cold water, he had no idea what was going on and that confusion only continued when he heard voices around him and then ended up being dragged to shore by a snow white wolf. A wolf that looked so similar to one he used to know he was shaken enough that he wondered if he somehow got caught in some kind of trap or illusion created by a primal beast or something. And considering he had been in the middle of important operations, he's feeling less forgiving about the whole situation. But after some "discussion" with the wolf; realizing he wouldn't be able to search for his gun in that lake even if he wanted to; and seeing others around him in a similar state as himself, he has little choice but to follow its urging to the cliffs.

Should he run into someone who seems a bit lost, he'll pause before stopping.]

I don't know how true it is...but they say we should head up to the cliffs. [His eyes flick first to the wolf standing next to him and then to the cliffs ahead. Seeing the carved in staircase and the difficult climb, he again looks at the stranger.] Can you handle it?

[While climbing the cliffs, should anyone slip or have difficult and Eustace is nearby, he'll try and help them up.]

⊗ arrival b: caravan mingling

[Only after Eustace retrieves his belongings—specifically his beloved rifle—does he feel more assured and calm again. He's still not sure what's going on or if what the man and everything else is saying is true, but as long as he has Flamek, he'll at least feel has his trusty partner with him. So while he waits for the caravan to move, he'll be doing any of the following:

1. Lone gunman. After discovering his rifle is in a strange "sleeping" state and unable to release lightning blasts like usual, he sets himself a bit away from the group to inspect and eventually clean the weapon. His rifle isn't really that dirty, but checking over his gun and wiping it down calms him somewhat as he clears his mind while considering his options on what to do next.

2. Conversing with animals. He's already noticed he can hear various voices and when he's near the horses does he realize it's from animals. However it's not consistent, so he experiments a bit, speaking softly to the horses and understanding bits and pieces. Should there be any dogs around he will try to...slowly approach.

Otherwise he'll just keep to himself and watch everyone else, observing and taking mental notes on how everyone seems to be.]

⊗ arrival c: training grounds

[Eustace is quick to find the training grounds as he is wanting to understand the kind of magic he now possesses. He's already figured out he has animal magic, but he apparently has a second set as well. It only takes a bit of trial and error with a mentor to discover he has elemental magic with a natural affinity to electricity and ice. With the basic knowledge now in mind, he spends most of his time practicing with it.

1. Animal transformation. On his first attempt to transform, he ends up looking at his wolf familiar and manages to transform into a wolf himself. It's surprising since he didn't expect to get that far on a first attempt, and maybe a little bit exciting as well. It's rare for him to feel this kind of exhilaration and so he can't help but try and see what else he can do. Unfortunately the first success seems to have been a fluke, and it's hit or miss on subsequent efforts. One unfortunate mishap has left him as a puppy and he's having difficulty trying to transform out. So someone passing by might just hear what looks like a cute little brown husky pup swearing in a strangely deep, low voice.]

Damn, did I overdo it? ...I need to find a quieter place to concentrate.

[Little puppy will now be trotting off away from the training grounds, a rather amused white wolf following after and leaving a trail of snow flurries in its wake.

2. Lightning strikes. With Flamek no longer able to conduct electricity, Eustace focuses on mastering harnessing electricity, especially after he learns that he may be able to imbue his weapon with the element. Of course that's going to take a lot of time and effort, so for now he focuses on the basics—and that is conjuring electricity into his hand and releasing them. Again it's hit or miss—and unfortunately those misses could be an accidental "hit" on someone else in the area.]

Ah...sorry, are you hurt?

[Should anyone be hit by a stray bolt of lightning, at least it will be a minor jolt and burn.]

⊗ vine a: vine problems

[After hearing about the strange disappearances, Eustace and his familiar head off to investigate and quickly encounter the strange vines. For the most part he's able to dodge them, even practicing his animal transformation to change into a dark wolf and escape that way. But of course it's not that easy.

1. How's it hanging? Even he can be caught unawares, and while in his normal form, one manages to wrap around his foot and pull him up to hang him upside down. A few more latch onto his body, preventing him from moving much. And of course he's unable to transform so he tries to cast some lightning magic to try and sever the vine. It works—but not completely. Should he try the other elements like fire or ice? As the vines just seem to be holding him for now, he tries not to expend too much energy and stares at his familiar.]

Not going to help?

[At its whimsical shake of the head and lazy swish of its tail, he just sighs and looks back up. He just needs to find the main vine to target...

In the meantime, if someone does venture near his familiar with trot off and tug at them to lead them towards Eustace. Whether they want to help is of course up to them—or get trapped with him as those vines really do enjoy the company. Tickle him if you dare.

2. Freeing others. For those who are stuck, he'll try to help free them using his magic. If he has to try and tickle them, though...........Well that'll be interesting.

[ ... she was just nearby when she heard someone speak. Having sweat enough for the day, she's on her way to leave the training grounds when she sees a puppy! There's no one else here, so who could have been talking?

This isn't something she would normally do, but now she's following the puppy and the wolf wherever they may be going. Of course, she's not exactly the queen of subtlety, so she's very easy to catch. And when she's caught? She straightens up immediately, hands both at her sides, feet together. If her braid could stand up, it probably would be up now. ]

I've never seen a talking puppy before!

[ Once again, Nash is in familiar boots and unfamiliar territory. He listens to Archimedes's explanation with a look of blank disinterest, trying to take in many things at once, while also finding Viki, who must be behind this.

By the time he's gathered into one of the carriages his hair is drying curly and he's slouched over his new smartphone, utterly puzzled by the device. Is there something he's meant to do with it, besides stare at his own reflection in the river stone smooth surface?

It would probably help if he took off his gloves, which are decidedly not smartphone friendly. But he doesn't know that. Maybe someone else in the carriage could help him out? ]

ii. acting mini game
[ Reciting lines and playing a part is one thing Nash does understand, and of course he relishes the opportunity to play a knight. He isn't intimate with Arthurian legend, but some of the names on the list of roles seem familiar anyway. Galahad, Percival…

He chooses to play Bors, playing the part with an exaggerated temper. When it comes time to actually fight, though, Nash breaks character. ]

iii. exit, pursued by a clone
[ The rumors of magic swords were what actually drew him to this little game, though he can't say he hasn't been having fun with the drama. ]

[ Nash is running from another Nash, feet falling heavy on the hard pavement. He is out of breath, almost out of knives, and a sliver of genuine terror carving a space at the back of his mind, sharp as vinegar in the wound. He hasn't had a chance to establish a life here, yet. It's going to be hard for anyone to tell the difference between the real Nash and the double.

The real Nash. Maybe that's the part that scares him.

When the doppelganger sees it has a witness, it plays innocent, like it wasn't just trying to kill someone. How to tell which is the imposter?

Nash shrugs, raising his arms. ]

A. Soaking Arrival.

[Jaskier's scream as he hurtles through the sky is the scream of a man who's made a life of screaming and running away from terrifying things, and the choked gurgle as he hits the water is the sign of... well, a man drowning. All that flipping and rolling through the air and all he could do was cling, desperate, to the lute case still strapped across his shoulders, which certainly did nothing for the impact. Not when he made sure his body hit the surface first.

He blinks back awake and takes a swift, rattling gasp as consciousness snaps back into place. He's shivering, soaking wet, still half-deep in the water.

And he's. Moving. Through the water. He shifts his hands, starting as his fingertips touch what is unmistakably grass.

He screams again.] Ah! Away, you brute! You're not eating me today! [He tumbles backwards off the mossatee, which gives a cow-like groan and turns around to scoop him up again, rolling its nose underneath him until he slides back onto its back. It starts swimming on its original path, flippers splashing lightly with a snort.

Jaskier shoves his wet hair out of his eyes, staring at the giant head in front of him.] Er. [The creature is like some sort of fat whale with all the edges cut off, a bulbous, mossy mass that throws its head back and practically moos.

That's.]

All right. We can be friends, then. But only because I could use the help. Don't get too comfortable with me. I'm out of here the first opportunity that comes. I'm -- [With water out of his eyes and with his top half safely peeking out of the water of this -- this lake, he can take a good look round.] Where the fuck?

[Not to be a geographer about it all, but there is not a bloody chance this lake is on the side of that dragon mountain (though it remains to be seen whether the moniker of the mountain was true or not.) And the, er, water-cow (a proper name Jaskier's only just granted it) giving him a ride is certainly not a creature he's laid eyes on before.]

Don't suppose you talk? [The water-cow grunts.] Ah, well. You're as talkative as my regular companionship. No matter. Just -- head to that shore there, my steed, and I'll be off.

[Except their path is interrupted by a few more water-cows that rise up to moo and blow bubble at him, one flipping over in circles as if offering its belly.

... well, all right. Perhaps he could take a few moments with a few darling creatures that were one of the few he's met not attempting to devour him. Jaskier pats them on the head, one by one, giving them a few scratches across their noses.] I really must insist that I be going, my friends. [Lest his lute become any more water-logged than it probably already is. Elven craft or not, he really does not mean to see what it can withstand.]

B-1. Caravan to Camelot (Or Getting There, At Least).

[Unfortunately for Jaskier, his curious run-ins with the local wildlife do not stop at the water-cows. By the time he's made it to shore and given a little time to squeezing what he possibly can out of his drenched clothing, he catches something toddling towards him at a loping run. At least he's in fine company, because apparently he's not the only one who's prone to falling, mysteriously, into lakes. The chance that thing is coming for him is absolutely zero.

Zero, or... fifty percent.

It gets closer. As its paws hit the ground, tail thrashing behind it, and two little wings snap open, he realizes exactly what that is.]

Griffin. [It slips out in confusion. Not only because he's never really seen one, as rare as they are in the flatter lands, but because they usually don't come this close to people.

Or towards him.] That's --

[Oh, fuck.. Nope, nope, it's coming straight for him. What the fuck has he done, put on the wrong cologne? Jaskier gives a yelp and starts running as the griffin runs after him, too focused on self-preservation to notice the playful loping in its run.] Not today! I'm not getting eaten by a teenaged griffin, thank you! Fuck off, feather-face!

B-2. Caravan to Camelot (Getting Somewhere).

[Jaskier has been well and truly shamed this day. Not only is he still wet and feeling akin to a half-drowned dog, and not only are his lungs seering from his cheerful jog earlier, but the griffin that chased him down, once catching up to him, leapt on him and, with its weight, made him topple into a spot of mud without even a contrite look on its face. Er, beak.

And now it's sleeping on his booted feet, and he's supposed to believe he's bonded with the thing, despite having never seen it in his life. He thoroughly regrets this whole bloody thing, and if he had to bond with anything, he would much prefer the adorable water-cows and not this predatory monstrosity.

Though it does snore lightly as it sleeps, so. There's that.

The griffin's sleep is rudely awakened as Jaskier looks over the small, heavy square that's been handed to him. It lights up with magic as he touches it, and, as he looks around, he realizes how sorely out of his depth he is. Others in the caravan are swiping at it with their fingers, the glow lighting their faces, and not a one looks particularly perturbed with being handed an enchanted piece of glass.

He pokes it. For some reason, music (or perhaps what a head-traumatized troll might call music) starts pouring out of it, but it's blaringly loud. His griffin gives a shriek as it starts, and Jaskier drops the enchanted thing with his own gasp.] What the fuck? Why is it screaming?

[Please help.]

C. Red Spring.

[The first moment of relaxation Jaskier can remember is when he finally sits in the salt cave, fully believing that, as he was told, it is for relaxation and healing, both of which sound wonderful. He has long stopped asking questions about anything simply because he has no energy to do it.

It is fairly uncouth to have one's bare feet out there for all to see, but his own are sore from running around in boots all day, and that's after half a bloody trip up a godsdamn mountain. His feet sink into the sand and he sighs, leaning back in the chair, the griffin that has firmly followed him all day curled up on a heated rock, its tail swinging off the side.

He opens his eyes to shiny little star-like lights in the rock, which twinkle with promise.] Ah. How pretty.

[The stars shift, spelling out one word, then the next. TIRED. Yes, he was. PERPLEXED. Absolutely.

HORN--

Goddammit. He looks away, pretending he's not seen the word.

Jaskier sighs.] No, I take it back. I hate magic.

Caravan

[Oda Nobunaga is not a good guy. Make no mistake about it. The Demon King who committed a holocaust on the Buddhist stronghold of Mount Hiei isn't overly kind, shocking, no doubt.]

[But he's not entirely without empathy, and has the basic understanding that as (little) as he was jarred to be displaced without warning, it's probably much worse for everyone else who doesn't have his almighty grand composure and rapid reflexes and frankly, amazing ability to adapt.]

[So his backhand slap is meant merely to snap Jaskier out of the shock, not injure the man.]

Hush! [The cold eyes he sets upon the griffin, however, are indeed every bit the conqueror's dominating rage he's so infamous for. A kind of, "don't sing when I don't command it, or I'll kill you every bit as much as I kill the songbird who doesn't sing when I do command it!" And with that, Oda (surprisingly!) gently picks up the device, and turns the volume down.] I had only seen one once before, and never in action. Curious devices, are they not?

I believe these snake like things go to your ears, to avoid others hearing. Useful for spying, no doubt. Don't worry, the heads don't bite. [Mind, Jaskier probably was less worried until he said that...]

Oda Nobunaga | Ikemen Sengoku

Arrival A:

Lord Oda Nobunaga makes it to shore relatively fine, despite not really knowing how to swim. He figures it well enough that he doesn't need the mossatees, and he even sticks around to try to help anyone else floundering. He has no idea how much help he can be, as he doesn't have any ropes or vines, and he debates trying to even use his sword to make logs (which would need better drying anyway!) but in between waiting, the slightly larger than human-sized grey oni catches his eye. Oni aren't real. He's as certain of this as he is that he is the second son of Lord Nobuhide. That he was born in Owari, and played with guns and falconing, horse-riding, and killing assassins set after him. Nobunaga has seen almost all of Japan in his quest to unite it and end the Sengoku period, and there is no such thing as oni. There can't be. And Buddhist monks are more than just liars and charlatans and --

Screw this! He draws his katana and levels it coolly at the would be ogre and his club. "Show me what you're really made of, then!"

Yes, leave it to the Fool of Owari to fight his own familiar first thing upon landing somewhere new. Not try to find out where he is, how he got there, how to go home or anything else; nope. He's going to fight himself. As you do.

Arrival B:

Oda's relieved his gunpowder is kept nice in dry in the shit box, but he doesn't instantly get in the caravan like a good soldier. He's used to being second to none, the would-be Unifier of Japan, and he's been carving his own path since the day he was born, much to the extreme chagrin of all his attendants and even best friends. Which is why he tromps back to the shore to look for any more stragglers, and will be the very last person to come back to the caravans. If he can't lead the charge (and this is more of a retreat than a charge, isn't it?) then he will definitely make sure to pull up the end. Also carriage. Really? Just give him a single horse! This is too extravagant! What is even the point? Are the people really able to live in such decadence now?

He finally dons his falcon poncho (nifty) and plays with the device until he's sure he's mastered the basics. He's still pretty sure magic isn't real, but first things first, he has priorities.

Oda just passes on that salt-cave thing. But he DOES hit up the training grounds, and give himself an internal raging migraine headache over whether magic is real. It's hard being an atheist who declares war on god's servants because you're that convinced there is no god and if people need to worship someone, well hey, you're right there for them, and also magic is all bullshit... annnnd to then go do magic. He does magic of a sort all the time, right? Except... it's not magic. Unifying / "Healing" (as he is trying to convince himself it is so that he can do the so-called healing magic!) Japan is not mysterious, it's a calculated game of gambles and risks and each stone is distinctly plotted as much as in a game of Go. But as with any good game of Go, or squashing violent uprisings; one shouldn't ignore any potentially useful resource. So if he can do healing magic then...

Then that would be great. If magic was real. But it's probably not.

"Can't we just practice shooting, wrestling, and swordfighting?" All the irritated growls. Hell, if they could do that, he would even be more than happy to teach. But no, it's got to be magic, which isn't real.


Vines A:

The vines do nothing to convince him that magic is real, sadly. Because he's heard of man-eating plants (not magic) and far away lands with really really fascinating herbs and all sorts of oddities. Being strung up by semi-sentient tentacle vines is a first for him, and Oda Nobunaga takes it surprisingly well. Once it's clear that he is incapable of cutting himself free, he just rolls his eyes and waits patiently for help.

No, no, the hard part is going to be letting himself be tickled. Oh, he is extremely ticklish. It's his biggest (second biggest after sweet tooth!) weakness, and he would probably rather die than be tickled to freedom. Almost anyway.

Vines B:

Honestly, once Oda finds the plant source... he doesn't care anymore. "It was their own fault then," he says with a blatantly dismissive shrug. He will try to stop any idiots from attacking it further though (for now). Live and let live?

Doppleganger C:

You know, most people would be perturbed at finding themselves "replaced" as it were, but Oda Nobunaga just tilts his head in bemusement. And then it gets... stupid. As the doppleganger insists it is the real one, the not-plant one... uh doesn't? "Am I a dream then?" "An imposter!" The not-plant Oda just laughs. "What kind of idiot would want to be me? Okay! You can have it then! Hey! I'm free now! Maybe I'll go back to the forest, and do whatever I want!" "That isn't any different from now!" "Exactly!" More loud laughs from the Fool of Owari, and whatever fool who wants to be... the Fool of Owari... for some reason. This is undoubtedly someone's worst nightmare, but multiple evil clones of Oda Nobunaga just sounds... really fun to the original. Be afraid, be very afraid.

Vines A. I had to...

Rose was still not a fan of those vines, especially after the humiliation of being caught up in them. And then there was the humiliation of what had to be done in order to get down. She was actually on her way out of the forest, planning on staying far away from those vines forever when she found another 'victim' to the plants.

She arched a brow as she looked up at the man. "Do you want some help?" she asked. There was no way she was just going to start tickling a stranger without at least asking them first.

[ Being underground isn't exactly his kind of gig, you know? Life is so much better out in the fresh air, on top of the mountain (cold as it is), but this is much more pleasant than the Underworld, so it balances out.

Mostly. Being stripped of his powers isn't exactly ideal, especially when they've been replaced with this world's own magic. But it's good to know that this place also understands the value of enjoying oneself, providing a rather wonderful bottle of wine in this natural paradise.

Ah, humans. They're always good for a fun time, and so when Dionysus hears the steps of someone approaching, sand shifting underfoot, he twists in his recliner with a smile. ]

Hey! Come on in! Have I got the thing for you.

[ Those who observe their surroundings will notice that the stars above his head spell out the word TIPSY. But hey. That's what makes life fun. ]

2. The Answer Is No
[ It all starts with a phone call. A cheerful Hey man! Just getting back to town, how about we go for drinks? to whichever poor bastards have interacted with him up until this point.

And then he hears the questions, the confusion in their voices:

What do you mean, getting back? You hung out with me yesterday!

Now that's... different. But it doesn't take long for Dionysus to run into the reason his friends are so confused. After all, any doppelganger worth their salt will be exactly where the original would be.

So, of course, this all takes place at a boozy, open-all-day style winery. And the thing is, Dionysus isn't even mad about being cloned, because he's always thought he'd get on with himself. It's natural, they have the same interests and the same great taste.

Except this guy has venom in his eyes and is leaping straight for Dionysus as soon as they round the corner to the toilets to speak more privately. ]

Wh-whoa! Come on -- What do you think you're doing? [ Now, if he were back in his world, this would be a relatively simple job. A quick smite and this guy would be out of his hair, yeah? But that isn't the case, and it's fortunate that Dionysus escapes the touch of his doppelganger just in time, because there's magic at its fingertips and he doesn't want to know what the plan was there.

So, if anyone's unfortunate enough to be at the winery, whether they've sat there for a while or just walked in, they may find themselves crashing into Dionysus as he scrambles to get away from himself.

... Quite literally, as well. ]

He and Dionysus have never been two gods who have crossed paths save for by pure coincidence, but he knows that voice the moment he hears it and turns faintly wary attention towards the man sitting in the recliner. While also stripped of his powers and having been here long enough to put himself into some more native attire, Thanatos isn't the kind of person one mistakes for anyone else.]

[The whole day has been, to put it mildly, quite overwhelming. Kazumi’s done his best to listen attentively to everything he’s been told, but it’s hard to shake the lead weight in his stomach that came from how abruptly he’d been uprooted. His familiar, at least, had been a comfort. The kirin had stuck close to him through most of the journey, reassuring him that his world would not know of his absence, and that he was in fact needed here.

Even so, it’s a relief to finally get to a room where he can be alone and relax a little. Whoever’s been assigned to the same one hasn’t shown up yet, so he decides to take a moment to make sure his entire deck arrived safely. He’d retrieved it from the Shit Box earlier, examining the cards in the caravan, with all that rain, was just far too risky!

He spreads them out on his bed now, counting them and ensuring they’re all there, and quickly winds up absorbed in the process. Even when someone does enter, he’s not apt to notice.]

[Oh! Kazumi is starstruck at all the hustle and bustle. He barely knows what he’d like to try first! In fact, he can be found right in the middle of the convention, wavering in every direction. What would be most interesting - playing some games? Trying on costumes? Looking at the merchandise? He just can’t make up his mind. So he turns to the nearest person who at least looks unoccupied for advice instead.]

Ah, excuse me? Do you have any recommendations? I seem to be a bit out of my depth here!

[C - Vines]
[Healing magic is likely not going to be much good against vines, so perhaps it’s foolish for Kazumi to head out into the forest to investigate when he hears of the trouble going on. But he can’t ignore the thought of someone being tied up and trapped like that... it brings back too many bad memories. He has brought a borrowed dagger with him, at least, which he hopes will be of use.]

Excuse me! [He calls routinely, as he heads deeper into the forest.] Is anyone here? Please.

[Of course, by going in deeper, he’s putting himself at risk of the vines himself. One latches onto his ankle, and he has to cut it free. Whether he succeeds in finding someone in need of help, or will be found needing a hand himself, seems to only be a question of time.]

[A - Soaking in Your Arrival]

[Falling out of the sky isn't a new experience for Kenjou Akira, but it's not one that she's eager to experience all the same. Moments later, she crashes into the waves, and finds herself floundering for air, struggling to remain above the surface of the water.

Thankfully, she's helped to shore by some friendly... seals? Dugongs? Manatees? Akira isn't sure of the actual species, but she's thankful. After bidding the friendly beasts farewell, she hauls herself onto dry land... just in time for a small, dog-like creature to hop up to her, and land squarely in her open palm. Akira blinks a few times, before recognizing it as her Crystal Animal partner. But what is it doing here?

What was she doing here? Biting her lower lip, Akira looked around nervously.]

[Well, now Akira is dry, and aware of her situation, and... suffice it to say, she's at odds with it. The idea that everything she knew and cared about was frozen in time she had to somehow help stop it... it was quite a responsibility.

Not that being a Precure wasn't also quite a responsibility. But still, she had comrades she could count on in situations like that. Here, all she had (as far as she knew) was her Crystal Animal-turned-familiar, and the help of strangers.

Akira wasn't depressed by all this as much as she was despondent. She worried for her younger sister, above all else. Then there was her friends, with one in particular taking prominence in her mind. As she sat with all these ruminations, you might spy her, looking serious as she thinks over these matters in the lobby, halls, or near the training grounds.

She's so distracted, she might end up walking into you. In which case...]

[Akira had no idea how she'd gotten saddled into doing this. It started with some young women insisting that she was perfect for the role of a knight... and the rest of it was a huge blur. The end result was her in the outfit of a knightly lord, carrying a sword, and Akira looking very confused.

But... she had a part to play, and people were watching expectantly. So she cleared her throat, and did just that.]

[You could be the Guinevere to her Lancelot, or... you could be another knight, intruding on "Lancelot's" efforts to see the queen. Or perhaps you're one of the knight's rivals, impeding him.

Arrival A

Mitsuhide was heading for the commander's tent at the Oda Force's camp when it happened. It didn't take him long to hear about the fire at Honno-ji. He needed to see for himself that Nobunaga was alright. He was at the entrance to the tent when he suddenly found himself plummeting into a body of water. After some frantic kicking, he managed to surface and looked around.

"What the blazes?" He exclaimed. It was one of the rare occasions where he was caught by surprise. The camp was nowhere near a body of water yet somehow he ended up in the middle of what appears to be a lake. On a nearby shore, he could see some people. After a bit of nudging from the strange manatee creatures, he started to swim in that direction.

It didn't take long for him to reach the shore and climb out of the water. Close behind him, a three tailed creature came out of the water and shook itself off. The sound had him turn to see what it was. The sight of the creature was enough to give him his second surprise for the day. Unusual for someone who is rarely taken by surprise.

"A kitsune?" He must have been drugged because a creature of myth couldn't be right before him. If not drugged, then where was he?

Arrival B

After learning about it, Mitsuhide had to open the shit box to see what he had. Looked like his tanegashima and sword were in there. Thankfully the gunpowder in the tanegashima was dry along with the ammunition bag with extra powder. He also had clothing that wasn't his now drenched armor. But what was unexpected was the albino, but mundane, little fox that was also in the space. A little fox that usually was found in his garden back at his estate in Azuchi. With the small kitsune that was also following him around, it seemed like the man just attracted foxes.

For now, he settled in the carriage and began fiddling with the device known as a 'smart phone,' his new familiar and fox curled up at his feet. For now he wasn't going to post anything on the network. He was more the sit back and observe type.

Vines A

It really didn't take long for Mitsuhide to get used to things. Though he still questioned the whole magic thing. It seemed like too simple of an explanation for the whole situation. But that didn't mean he wasn't going to make the most of things and go exploring.

After some observation, it was easy to tell that the vines, though harmless, had a mind of their own. It still didn't convince him that they were magic, but they were amusing. Especially when he saw others get caught in them. He made a note to keep his distance. But after a while, he saw the trick to get those entangled down and that made even more amused.

So, only when he saw someone caught in the vines did he get close. With a sly smile he would look up a the entangled victim.

"Oh my, you seem to be in quite the predicament," he said, an almost mischievous look in his eyes. "I happen to know the trick for getting down though. Would you care for some assistance?" Should you really trust this man?

Vines A because SAME

Oda was about to say that of course he wants down, but he knows the man well enough to be extra suspicious of that evil glint in the eyes. "What's the trick?"

[Jyushi ends up falling into the lake and he's absolutely flailing about. It's by pure miracle that he ends up getting himself to the shore, gasping dramatically for air as he looks around absolutely lost, bottom lip wibbling because he's two seconds away from an absolute breakdown.

With his eyeliner and mascara running down his face, he looks like a big mess. For somebody that cries so easily, he should really invest in some waterproof make-up but that's a concern for another day. Especially because that breakdown is happening now as he starts wailing. He's trying very hard to cry less but he thinks that right now, with whatever's going on, is a perfectly good reason to cry. He's excused this time!]

[These salt caves are really nice. For once, Jyushi does feel really relaxed as he breathes in and out like Kuko told him to do before. Although once he thinks of his friend, he frowns. He wonders how he is because Kuko's obviously not here. Jyushi wishes he was because Kuko could probably handle this way better...

It's then that the sparkles spell out CONFIDENCE and you know what, magic sparkles? You're right! With that, he brushes his hair out of his face and laughs.]

Hahaha! Fate may have taken me on a curious journey but it matters not. Vincit qui se vincit after all!

[Fake it until you make it...!

Also tell him to shut the hell up because this is supposed to be relaxing.]

[Despite his screaming and begging to not be taken by the vines (because he knows where that always leads...), he's been taken anyway. And now he's stuck. Is he sniffling to himself? Yes. How could he not? He's stuck in a tree, all wrapped in vines. That's horrible.

When your character comes along, Jyushi calls out. Or at least he tries, too quiet and nervous, until the flip is switched and he's gone full personality switch.]

Hark! You, dashing savior! These vines have restricted my movement, a horrendous bondage...! If you could please assist me and grant me freedom then this humble servant would forever be in your debt!

[Yeah, he's going to talk like this for the rest of the time. Have fun with that.]

[Nobunaga is almost definitely going to regret this from the wording of that request alone, and even more from the means Oda will have to employ to free the other man.]

[BUT FREE SERVANT! Look, Oda has spent his whole life literally having to conquer and strong-arm people with way worse means than this. (Or it would be worse except that he had to be tickled too first!) Just to get them to agree to stop screwing over the populous and lands they inherited, never mind to get them to even pretend to help him along his path. Vassals must never be wasted, even when (especially when???) they are plotting your doom. And yes, different rules apply here, but Hideyoshi was a commoner Oda made a daimyo, and no one in the universe could be more loyal. So rescuing people is always good, and Oda will always keep doing it. He just wishes he didn't have to do it with tickling, you know? It's so undignified and distasteful, and beyond Fool of Owari nonsense.]

Is there a good kind of bondage?

Arrival A

One minute Rose was bracing herself for the explosion, content that her very long life was about to end, the next she was splashing down into the middle of a lake. This was the last thing that she expected.

It didn't take her long to reach the shore at least, which allowed her to get a better look around. This was not what she expected the after life to be like. She also felt very much alive, which led to some more confusion.

"What is this place..." she muttered as she looked around. Out of the corner of her eye she saw what appeared to be a small, about the size of a cat, dark dragon lands near by. Well, it looked like there were some familiar things here. Now to find out where her sword and Dragoon Spirit were.

Arrival B

Getting up the cliff was certainly an experience. What awaited her at the top was another. At least in the shit box was her sword. Good, because she felt naked without it. Her Dragoon Spirit was also there, but it didn't respond to her. In fact it was dormant. It was disturbing but it was something that she would worry about later. For now, she was more concern about the explanation of the how and why she was in this new realm.

Now it was just a matter of figure out what this 'smart phone' thing worked. At least she got a black poncho to help keep her from getting even more wet. Just ignore the fact that it had kitty ears.

Arrival C

Though she would have preferred a good soaking in a hot spring, she understood why it was closed. The salt caves were tempting but then she heard about the training grounds. So of course she went there. Time for her to learn some magic that didn't require her to use her Dragoon Spirit.

Vines A

Soa... Over all this realm wasn't bad, but there were somethings that she strongly disliked. Like these vines. These vines that she was now tangled in and hanging from a tree from. The more she struggled, the more she seemed to get tangled.

"Ugh! Let go of me!"

At least they weren't hurting her. Well, at least not physically anyway. Her pride on the other hand was a totally different story. Soa, this was only supposed to be a simple missing person's investigation...

Vines A

Help would fortunately come, as Homura arrived on the scene to investigate what the heck was happening. Having been grabbed before, she knew exactly how to escape. Well, with magic anyway. Jumping into the air, using wind magic for the extra boosts, her swords were lit ablaze with fire. Dashing with the aid of the wind, she sliced apart the vines to free Rose.

By the time she got back to the ground, she was spinning the blades like fans, repelling anymore vines coming their way. Still..

"You might wanna start moving, I can't stop it for good!"

An Unexpected Transformative Arrival

[ When Ahiru first hit the water, she thought maybe she was in a dream. She'd been drowsing in her pond, waiting for Fakir to come read to her before the sunset, and it was peaceful. Her limbs (human!) flailed and oh she forgot how weird swimming was with arms instead of wings and this had to be a dream, she isn't a human anymore. She isn't Princess Tutu. Is she?

Well her human lungs didn't seem to agree so she's gasping for air when she remembers how to swim right, twirling around in the water with wide, confused blue eyes. ]

Fakir? Fakir!

[ There's no familiar dock or ground, nothing she recognizes, and then she sees a creature she's never seen before. It's big and green and while she's not immediately afraid, she swims for the nearby shore as fast as her human limbs can bring her. Which isn't as fast as she would be in her natural form, but that's a question for a few minutes. Scrambling out of the water, she breathes heavily on her knees in the shallow end, looking down at her old school uniform. And right there, sure enough, is the pendant. ]

Oh no, [ she whispers, looking horrified,] this isn't right.

[ She sits there for longer than most people would, comfortable in the water, but eventually starts to shiver and crawls out. Being on two long legs again is hard and Ahiru looks around, lost and overwhelmed. Her red hair stuck to her face, young and innocent in appearance. This can't be good, if she's in this body again. What if it is good?

She's startled when a raven swoops down out of no where, finding a perch near the sand and staring at her. She screeches and falls back on her butt.]

Quack! [ She says out loud, like that's a perfectly normal thing for a human to say. ]


Carriage-Bound

[ Ahiru intends to listen to the man in the carriage, she really does, now that she's gotten her items and is no longer afraid of the raven, but she's completely unfocused and instead looking outside of the carriage. Her wide eyes take in the surroundings, amazed at how new everything feels, how drastically different this new adventure of hers is already starting to be. Her fear is being replaced by excitement, not many things can keep this duck down for good, and she pokes her head out of the carriage constantly instead of listening.

She also keeps poking at the mini-bar where it pops out bottles, shutting it and then opening it again multiple times, and leaning up to where the cool or warm air is coming from curiously. Ahiru squirms and doesn't seem to be able to sit still, accidentally forgetting to use her earbuds so the sound goes off when she uses AOL, her happiness turning into guilt when she flails and makes it stop quickly. ]

The Red Spring

[ By the time they get to the Red Springs, she's nodded off on the way since she already was tired to start with, and the excitement of being human again is beyond her. Ahiru stumbles clumsily out of the carriage, landing hard but zipping back up with the speed of youth and also the nervousness of seeming weird and awkward so quickly. Ugh. She misses the grace of Tutu. Why couldn't that be what form she's in?

This isn't a situation where she just magically is given a room at a ballet school and everyone acts like she's always been there. She's completely alone and a tiny young human and doesn't want to bother anyone with asking where she's supposed to go. She sort of wanders around the inn, tired and really wishing she listened to everything the person said on the way there, because maybe they told her what she's supposed to do now. ]

Oh I should have listened, I'm so stupid.

[ She bites her lip, her fingers playing with the pendant, which should not be around her neck anymore, and yet. ]

H-h-hello? Anyone? [ Tutu wouldn't be so timid, but Ahiru is. ] What am I supposed to do now?

CameCon

[ While her arrival here was a struggle, Ahiru bounces back pretty quickly once she settles into what her new normal is. It's strange and scary but also fun! And new! Since Mytho isn't here, it means she can't give him his heart piece anyway, so being human again is okay. She finds herself wandering through CameCon, curious and excitable. She watches other people play every game that she walks by, cheering them on loudly. ]

You're so good! Wow!

[ She'll chatter at someone even if they lose miserably, easily impressed to say the least. She shadows gamers and watches them play, but never plays herself. It almost seems that she desperately wants to, when people offer her a try there's naked longing in her eyes, but she always ends up shaking her head and smiling brightly. ]

I like watching. I don't know how to play.

[Lizzie has noticed the girl standing close by, watching her absolutely fail at the figuring out this whole video game thing. Not even Garlemald has this kind of technology, which is equal parts fascinating and frustrating.

Eventually, she offers the other controller to her spectator. When she tries to refuse, Lizzie gives her a smile and a shrug.]

Neither do I. We can figure it out together, if you'd like?
