He’d come to the salt caves principally in search of somewhere warm and dry (having been shut out of the hot springs), but serendipitously discovered that it was indeed a good place to train. His kinetic magic he has well in hand, but the green magic, well... that’s been a bit more of a challenge. So far, he’s only been able to grow vegetables with it.
Now, however, he’s just lined the cave corridors with a bamboo grove, and is searching for an open cavern to grow some peach trees, when—to his surprise—he happens upon a elegant, scholarly-appearing man playing a qin.
The stars above Gu Yun’s head had been spelling out various things like, “Pleased, self-satisfied, no more vegetables!” But upon seeing this man and his qin, the stars rearrange themselves to say, “nostalgia.” And faintly, very faintly, another character emerges also: “loss.”
His smile betrays none of that, as he glances up at the stars above the other man’s head and asks pleasantly, “Did you lose your way?”
