It's an area of theoretical physics he's never allotted much time or energy to thinking about, because it's always been just theoretical before. But this older boy is talking in a way that seems both familiar to Bean, and utterly foreign. ]

What Alliance?

[ He wants to say something to counter the assertion that soldiers would be better off dying in battle. Not only would that be a waste of resources on an ultimate level, but it's shortsighted. At least with a mutiny, the soldiers are still accomplishing something. They live to fight more battles, albeit battles with a different aim. ]

I still don't understand what we're even supposed to be doing to get back to where we belong. And, I don't think the people in charge understand it, either.
