At least he takes his gun back, and sets her up the steps ahead of him. That way, if she falters he can catch her. And if she falls asleep, he'll just carry her. Or it might be so she can't run away, whichever. He knows he's an absolute headache for quieter types (or anyone sane?) to deal with, but this part of his Demon King selfishness where it's too much work to address or change, so he doesn't. Let everyone else deal with the headache! "My own familiar is an oni called Kimon. He doesn't talk. I haven't met anyone else with a demon familiar, but the demon I met had a skeletal dragon familiar. Magic here tends to be a bit off." How the fuck does he have this much energy and breath while climbing stairs?! "Yuber, the demon, and I have healing magic. This probably isn't helping anyone ease in anywhere, but Oda is a very very trial by fire kind of person, and she just survived a literal fire, so what's another metaphorical one?
